We absolutely loved our stay at this beautifully renovated suite near 17th Ave. It was the perfect peaceful retreat - yet just steps away from all the restaurants, cafes, and nightlife of 17th Avenue. The space was immaculately clean, thoughtfully designed, and fully stocked with everything we needed, including a washer/dryer. The bathroom was great and the kitchen had all the essentials to cook meals when we didnât feel like going out.Soleil was a fantastic host: warm, responsive, and very helpful.Whether you're visiting Calgary for the Stampede, exploring downtown, or heading to the mountains, this place is an ideal base. Highly recommend - weâll definitely be back!
Everything went really well, communication, arrival instructions, very clean, bed and pull out couch were both very comfortable, will definitely stay again
We had a pleasant stay for four nights. The bedroom was situated at the rear of the house, which we appreciated for its tranquility. Parking was also conveniently located at the back of the house. The bed was comfortable, although we missed our own pillows.
The space was exactly as listed, really cute and comfortable, close to a lot of amenities and great communication with the owner.
10/10 would stay again.
A bit smaller than the pictures might make you think but it was comfortable, quiet and has everything you would expect. I have no real complaints and would stay again.
Quiet , well established , private , parking was free. , fully stocked towels , hangers , all appliances and every thing we needed to be comfortable.
Water pressure was fantastic.
6 stars hotel and the people that owned the place were a blessing I hope my business friends find it when near head office this is a true home away from home. Big value great internet and peace and security god bless we will be here again when back in town.
This listing was exactly as promised, great stay for a great price in a great location.
I find it can be difficult to find places that allow my dog and the owner was so accommodating and kind. My only downside was we found it to be quite hot at night as there was no thermostat, but we never actually reached out to the owner to change the temperature and I am sure they would have adjusted it if we had taken the time to ask. If you know you like to sleep cold or hot just give the owners a heads up :) Highly recommend!
My wife and I had an amazing stay here!
Location was perfect. We were able to walk downtown and 17th ave. restaurants and night life were literally just around the corner. Despite being so close to the action, the house is located on a lovely tree-lined street that was very quiet.
The suite was very well stocked and had everything we needed to cook with if we chose to, but since we were so close to amazing restaurants we ended up eating out the whole time.
The whole place was beautifully decorated, incredibly clean, the bed was very comfy, and the bathroom was beautifully renovated with a great shower.
Overall we had an amazing stay and I wouldnât hesitate to book again the next time I pass through Calgary.
Thanks for the great hospitality!
Roomy basement property convenient to shops and transit
This clean and comfortable unit provided a nice home-away-from-home for five nights. It is conveniently located less than two blocks from three different bus lines, two of which run late into the night, which allowed us to get around to anywhere we needed to go in Calgary without needing to have a car. It is also an easy walk to many inexpensive restaurants, bars, and bakeries along 17th Avenue SW.
We had brief interaction with the owner when we checked in, but otherwise communicated through the VRBO app. Communication was prompt. The coffeemaker in the unit was defective and after we notified the owner, they replaced it with a new coffeemaker within about 30 hours.
We would gladly stay here again if we ever travel back to Calgary!
Two things renters should be aware of:
1. There is no heat/cooling control for this unit - the temperature appears to be controlled by the heating of the main house above. The owner did check with us on our first night to see if we were comfortable and offered to make temperature changes, but be aware that you are unable to control it yourself.
2. Because this is a basement unit, there are low ceilings in part of the unit. If you are taller than about 6'3" (or certainly if you're approaching two meters) you will hit your head if you're not careful. Tall people might want to consider staying elsewhere.
The suite was stylish and well equipped with a nice yard with outdoor seating. The host thoughtfully left a welcome note and treats for my dog. But the weather turned unseasonably cool, so it became chilly inside. Not the host's fault--no one has their furnace on in August. But a warm throw blanket on the sofa would help keep guests feeling cosy. For the safety of guests coming back to the suite after dark, a light was needed at the front and side of the house. The front yard was well-treed and the house unlit. The sidewalk to the back of the house was very dark until I entered the yard and triggered a motion detector light above the rear door. Again, easily fixed. Otherwise, a spacious getaway suite in a terrific location, beautifully decorated and equipped for cooking. I would stay again and recommend it to friends.
