Cozy Home. Just a few minutes walk into beautiful, historic Stonington Borough.
Come visit our home away from home! Park your car & walk everywhere to enjoy all that beautiful Stonington Borough has to offer. Fantastic restaurants, Dubois Beach, museums, boating, nature walks, and world class sunsets are all just minutes away. Visit the funky Velvet Mill Farmer's Market on Saturdays. Buy fresh fish right off the boat, and fresh vegetables from one of our local farms. Enjoy a glass of wine and beautiful views at one of our 3 Stonington vineyards, or a local brew at Beer'd Brewing Company. When you're ready for a change a scenery, just a 10 minute drive gets you into the heart of beautiful Mystic Village, where you can take in some more New England charm, and grab a treat at the famous Sift Bake Shop before heading over to the Mystic Seaport and Aquarium. We're right on the border of Rhode Island, so a 10 minute drive in the opposite direction, will bring you into adorable downtown Westerly, where you can enjoy thrift shopping, book browsing, and a cup of Dave's coffee, before heading over to Watch Hill or Misquamicut to soak up some sun and waves on beautiful Rhode Island beaches. Have fun! We never get bored, and you won't either.
The neighborhood and nearby community is really nice and very New England-ish - we loved that! So many places within a short drive to eat all kinds of dishes. We wish there had been a microwave in the kitchen but we managed. The house has the charm of an old NE home. We especially enjoyed our time in Mystic and also with family in a wedding. We got up early to watch the sunrise at Stonington point - very cool.
Shannon was a delightful host and her communication was the best. The home was in a great location and had all the needed essentials for our girls getaway. Many hours were spent chatting while at the kitchen table or sitting on the comfy sectional sofa.
Great layout, open floor plan in kitchen, dining and living room. 3 bedrooms a plus! No ac available but the fans were fine for June. Street was a little busy during work commute times. Larger bath needs new tub. Great neighborhood for a walk, pickleball nearby!Owners extremely attentive.
We enjoyed our stay here. The beds were comfortable. We ate out and ate in with plenty of kitchen tools to cook with. Thank you for sharing your house.
Well-appointed historic home walking distance to seaside, eclectic shops, and local restaurants. Shannon is a wonderful host. The attention to detail and care for the home are quite evident. We felt at home the moment we walked in the door. Macando coffee, Glaze pottery, Stone Acres Farm, and Milagro Cafe, and COMO Thrift were favorites. A few places were closed for the holidays but that only added to the charm of a quiet getaway. Can't wait to visit again!
Awesome stay- we were not there much due to reunion activities- could not find any wash cloths- food and clothes left behind were not ours- very nice touch of leaving gift card- we bought some replacement coffee- thanks, Shannon
Shannon's home was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The house was also well-located in a quiet neighborhood that was walking distance to downtown Stonington and several restaurants. We were in town for a wedding at Saltwater Vineyard, which was just a short 3-minute drive away. Shannon was a gracious host and very accommodating to our needs traveling with an infant. Would highly recommend this stay to anyone traveling in the area!
We enjoyed our stay very much. Easy walk to the Velvet Mill and down the lovely historic streets of Stonington Boro. Super comfortable in every respect..including the mattresses! Thank you, Shannon
Shannon is a responsive and kind host. We rushed her out on check-in day because the Monday holiday caused a bit of confusion, but all was good. Great location! We really enjoyed the breezes on the patio.
We highly enjoyed & recommend this home. The house was delightful and full of character. The host was AMAZING & COMMUNICATIVE!!! We were in town to visit our niece at USCGA.... Highly recommend!!
The stay was comfortable, safe, and a great jumping off point to both CT and RI. The Velvet Mill nearby was great, we visited Ninigret Park for some troll hunting & the Rhythm and Roots festival, and Essex steam train on the way home. Beautifully decorated, very available hosts via text, clean home, off street parking, and a good price, even friendly neighbors. You can't ask for more than that.
This was a first time visit to the area. This lovely home made the time with our adult kids very nice. We enjoyed checking out the sweet vintage decor touches throughout. Each room felt like home. The kitchen was well equipped and the outdoor patio was a great place to hang out after a day at the beach. The Zest bakery gift card was greatly appreciated, too. Their coffee, pastries and crepes are the best! Sleeping was very comfortable with the fans located in each room. We had fantastic weather with warm sunny days and cooler nights. We would definitely stay again!
