Casa Lua - Adorable newly renovated 3 bedroom homeâŠlong time STR now on VRBO!
In the heart of Charleston, SC this home is conveniently located near everything the city has to offer. Minutes to historic downtown, and central to all beaches. This community was originally developed in the 1940's for our military men and women fighting in WWII. Casa Lua offers complimentary coffee and a well supplied kitchen with spices for the gourmet chef. The back yard is ready for a barbecue with gas grill, picnic table, fire pit, and one incredible tree swing. Enjoy!!
Property was as listed and host was receptive. Any concerns addressed in a timely manner. Extra cute touch for the little ones with toys and games available. Would stay again. Close to beaches and birthday venue.
When we arrived, we immediately noticed issues with the house. The top of the list being the microwave had a broken handle with an exposed screw poking out! The front door did not stay shut without locking it. The front gate hinge was bent when we arrived and gate was very difficult to open/close; did not lock. Not to mention, BARE minimum amenities offered (for instance, the only pan available for use on stovetop was scratched and old!). "Newly renovated" is very misleading and not accurate.
Overall the stay was pretty good. It was a little disappointing to arrive at the home to realize the property had been listed incorrectly. In the listing it said there were 6 beds kid a pull out sofa. However there were actually only 4 beds. The sofa isnât really a sofa bed itâs more of an ottoman that pulls out of the couch and there wasnât bedding available for it. The owner did stop by to get the bedding for it the next day, but it was frustrating that we didnât have the accommodations we thought were there. Overall they had a lot of nice touches. Well stocked home. Felt comfortable and safe. The beach towels and chairs were a great extra we appreciated! The bedroom setup is a little rough. The only queen bed is in an attached room to a double and a twin. It would be much better if the queen bed was in the bedroom by itself. The bed itself was fairly comfortable, but the frame is squeaky and old. Every time you move at all itâs so loud. If you have sensitivities to synthetic fragrances you may want to ask them to remove the plugins before arriving. They were overwhelmingly strong.
We had a nice time. Proximity to Riverfront Park and Park Circle area was great. Neighborhood & surrounding convenience stores seemed a bit sketchy. A few things: living room light fixture was blown out. You may want to consider adding a couple lamps in common area and bunk bed room. Coffee table needs tightening, itâs very wobbly. There is a nail popped up on front porch about a foot from entry door mat. Overall our stay was good. Thank you
