Get your "U.P" on with this perfect woodsy home near all kinds of fun
This home is comfortable, clean and cozy. Enjoy watching the wildlife through the many windows. Lake Superior is less than a mile away. You could even walk to the public beach! Or launch your kayak or boat in Lake Independence..also less than a mile away. Prefer hiking? ATV trails? Mountain biking? Birding? We have space for all of that on the many nearby trails. After your day of adventures, enjoy a beer or dinner in the same bar where Jimmy Stewart himself filmed the movie "Anatomy of a Murder", then come home and enjoy the deer and birds while grilling out, or a campfire in the backyard while you wait for the stars to come out and fill the sky.
A spotless home and had everything you need. We had quiet stay and were able to enjoy all the outdoor activities the area offered. Would definitely stay here again!
The home was a perfect size for the 3 of us. The kids loved the rooms and views, laundry on location was a huge bonus, a few bugs but its the UP and nothing crazy. Would definitely stay here again.
Peaceful and quite plenty of room to sit and hang out with friends or family, get to see deer right in backyard, not far from the beach. When you are in town stop by the ice-cream shop very good ice-cream the restaurants in town also have good food. The host was super nice. if you are looking for small time peace with little traffic this is the place to stay.
Lovely place to stay! Very clean and obviously well taken care of. We felt so content with this listing. Property owner is incredibly accommodating and friendly. 10/10 would stay here again!
Great spot with all necessary amenities, smells strongly of cigarettes. Could use a deep cleaning. Master bath seems to have a drain issue that should be addressed as well. Laundry room has a strong sewer odor.
Iâm originally from the Marquette area and like to come back once a year to see friends and spend time with my grandkids. The home was perfect for us. Its located in the woods on a paved rd with no traffic⊠deer, rabbits and sand hill cranes frequently came into the yard. Itâs an uncluttered open floor plan with lots of spaceâŠcounter space for cooking with the kids, nice table space for games and eating, in addition to a place to keep our âin-progressâ puzzle! I have mobility issues and especially loved the lack of steps and the walk-in shower with grab bars. In addition to the gas stove, we used the outside gas grill as well as the fire pit for meals. The fridge and freezer were large in capacity and everything was clean and in working order.
The area had lots to do⊠the kids spent time at the beach and fished off the dock in the county park. We enjoyed the view of Lake Superior from Thomas Rock and the natural beauty of Algin Falls. Very little to no tourist present at anything we did in Big Bay. On two days we traveled the 30 minutes into Marquette to see Presque Isle, Black Rocks, Marquette Mountain, Sugar Loaf Mountain and Dead River falls.
Great home, great location = wonderful memories!
