The cultural district, Mt. Washington and the Strip District are an UBER ride away. For us COMMUNICATION is key to a hassle free stay. The Allegheny Commons park is Pittsburgh's oldest park---- known for its mature canopy trees and lovely Lake Elizabeth, it is within walking distance from Loraine Street. Max's Tavern is an authentic German no frills restaurant with a great little bar and cozy booths. If you are looking for something a little more fancy, Fig and Ash on East Ohio street is the place to be. Delicious home-away-from-dishes led by one of Pittsburgh's top chefs. Siempre Algo also on East Ohio Street is a cozy romantic spot with vegetarian options and delicious desserts. Don't miss Yinz Coffee on East North Ave and Starbucks. Anthoer coffe shop is located on Buena Vista right next to Randyland on Arch street. The Andy Warhol Museum, The Mattress factory, Children's Museum, Alphabet City, downtown, North Shore, Heinz Field and PNC park are all within walking distance. What makes Northside so unique is it’s cultural diversity from starving artists to young professionals and neighbors that have lived and worked in Northside for decades—excitement is in the air in this thriving community. This is the city and not the suburbs and a reminder, you will see and hear the hospital's helicopter....which adds to the richness of the neighborhood. The kiddos will love it. You may encounter some older building that need more love, but Loraine Street and the area surrounding is a safe place to be. If it is getting chilly UBER and LYFT are at your service if you are heading downtown. Pittsburgh is notorious for being tricky to get around if you not use to it. But, there is hardly any traffic as compared to other cities. The Pittsburgh light train rail (known as the "T") is free to downtown and the Monongahela Incline. The T's Allegheny Station is by Acrisure Stadium on the North Shore. ➲When outside on the roof top deck will hear and see AGH's MedEvac helicopter occasionally. Please do not book if you are uncomfortable with that. ➲The 2nd floor bathroom is perfectly functional but it fills up slowly. ➲You will be in the City with all it's wonderful glory and diversity. Some of the buildings are not in great shape but many are being renovated. There is constant revitalization taking place. ➲The area is up and coming and you will see many houses being worked on. North Side has been flourishing in the past several years as you can tell by the renovation taking place at the Garden Theater—originally built in 1915. ➲The location is a multi-cultural mixed income neighborhood and please do not book if you are uncomfortable with that. ➲This is Pittsburgh row house with many steps. This house is NOT suitable for folks with mobility challenges. ➲If you have more than 1 car we recommend you park in the hospital’s parking garage. The price is approximately $24.00 per day. If you decide to park on one of the side streets, you will need a parking pass to avoid getting ticketed.
