Amazing Waterfront Views. Awaken to bird songs and swans gliding across the water. Sip coffee on the deck while planning the days adventures. Paddle board or kayak across the creek and have a swim at Wadeâs beach. Come back and shower in the glorious outdoor shower and grill dinner and dine on the deck. Just as you think the landscape and the light canât possibly get any more beautiful the sun begins to set and the light becomes even more beautiful. You will remember this special place and you will be thankful for the memories.
We had a wonderful weekend at this beautiful house in an incredibly quiet location. Would highly recommend this property. The owner was wonderful to work with and communicated well!
Comfortable and cozy house with a beautiful view in a perfect location. The host was extremely responsive and gracious. We enjoyed ourselves immensely spending a long holiday weekend in the house. Hope to do it again next year!
We had a wonderful stay with our family (including baby, toddler + dog.) The house is lovely, and the property cannot be beat with incredible water views and a short walk to Wades beach. Dorie was extremely responsive from the outset and provided lots of insight in terms of activities/restaurant options with our kids. We would highly recommend this house and look forward to returning again.
We had a lovely family vacation in this beautiful home with amazing water views. The house is well equipped, spacious and has a view from every room. We enjoyed the privacy the property provided while being close to beaches, stores and most importantly the Tuck Shop (ice cream shop)! Dorie was a great host who was very responsive before, during and after our stay. I would highly recommend this property for your Shelter Island vacation!
We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. Every bedroom has a gorgeous water view to wake up to. We kayaked and paddle boarded (just a few minutes in the kayak from the house to Wades Beach) and thoroughly enjoyed the deck, hammock, and outdoor shower! Dorie is a gracious host and quick communicator. Would give this home 10 stars!
The home was amazing and just as described. Beautiful, relaxing and picturesque - we didnât want to leave. The home has everything you would want. The outdoor shower is a dream as is the view of the water. Passing boats and Swan from the house as well as the bath. Would recommend to anyone and everyone! Host was a super communicator and quickly resolved issues, of which there were few. Donât wait to book this house - be appreciative it is available!
Back in the 80's my parents were sailing to Block Island and anchored in Shelter Island for a few nights and fell alive with the place. They bought land with one of the best views on all of Shelter Island and build a home where everyone, no matter which bedroom awakens to a beautiful water view. My parents collected art, they have great taste. And in my opinion the best and most valuable artwork they ever purchased is the view from their deck. I'm an artist too and I have been photographing Dickerson Creek for decades. I never tire of it. Everyday and throughout the day the composition and the light change. It's like a new stunning landscape painting is produced again again all day, every day. It still takes my breath away 30 years later. My children learned to kayak, paddle board and catch crabs, fish and clams in this creek. They learned to swim in the greatest swimming hole on Shelter Island just across the creek at the end of Wade's beach. The yard is perfect for badminton, bbq's, a firepit, and slip-n-slide. It's also a perfect spot on the road to set up a lemonade stand. It's basically just a perfect spot.
Shelter Island is about the water. This house is about the water and the memories that you will have and create on this special spot on this special island. When I was a kid I begged my parents to build a pool at the house. My father said, "Look outside. There's no need for a pool, it would be a distraction." He was right. Why waste any time with a pool when you are on a beach, there's crabs to chase and beaches to explore.
