This was the perfect place for the girls and I to rest and relax before the big day. Coffee on the porch in the morning and drinks in the afternoon watching the birds and the fish on the canal. Accommodations were perfect for us and the pool was pretty close by. Thank you.
I wish I could complain. I wish I had something to nag about. Other than the brevity of our stay, I can not think of a single complaint. The house is beautiful. The extras are magnificent. We will be back when we have more time to stay!
The end of the canal literally looked at my daughterâs camp. IT WAS PERECT!
It was great to have a dock and a place to put our boat and we loved being able to have our dog with us. The outdoor space was very nice and the kitchen was well stocked. The outdoor grill had rusted grates and poor flame distribution but I had brought my own grill plate to cook on. Also, the description states 2 kings rooms and a queen room but it was actually 1 king on the main floor, 1 queen and 1 double upstairs. Both my boys are over 6â tall so the double was disappointing. The air conditioning worked great for how hot it was but the upstairs showers did not get as hot as the main floor shower. Overall the hosts were wonderful to work with to make a stay a great one.
The property was perfect for our family for the 4th of July weekend. It served as a great gathering point to celebrate my 40th birthday. The big yard, screened porch and downstairs patio gave us plenty room to entertain the kids. The ease it took to get the boat in the water at the private boat launch and coming back to the canal behind the house was fantastic. It took no time at all to get out to the bay for the kids to enjoy the water. The house was in great shape with all the amenities you'll need for a weekend stay. We appreciate the host allowing us to bring our 10yr old lab but unfortunately fireworks in a not so familiar house caused panic so we'll have to replace some door paneling. We highly recommend staying here if you get the opportunity. Thanks again from NOLA!!!
The Salty Dog is Great! Everything you need and more! Spacious and accommodating. The screened in porches were wonderful for enjoying the outdoors. The âWELCOMEâ sign in nautical flags says it all! We had a great time and will book again when we come to visit.
Very clean and new! Den needs lamps, & property is upstairs so hard to access. Needs elevator. Safety is a bit of an issue with small kids, but overall a great place!
Positives:
1. Very Clean
2. Kitchen basics (dishes, flatware, pots, coffee pot, etc.) great
3. Nice decor
4. AC dual zone controls - worked well
5. Main living area/ kitchen spacious
Areas for Improvement:
1. Only 1 king bed, 1 queen and 1 double (advertised as 3 kings)
2. Not enough towels for 6+ guess (Suggest 3 -4 per bathroom)
3. Upstairs East bedroom needs curtain (to block early sunrise)
4. BBQ pit not used as it was very filthy and not cleaned by previous guest
The biggest issue we had was the listing said there were 2 king beds and a queen. There was 1 king, 1 queen and 1 full. We rented bc of that, and no couple wanted the full. Also, the downstairs outdoor area needed attention, we cleaned the lil fridge and left all of it nicer than it was when we got there. Pictures made it seem like a great place to hang out. The other issue is the water heating situation. Was told we have to make sure the 1(one) propane tank lasted us.
We rented this as a place to stay for art in the pass. The inside seemed brand-new. If you go there to fish off of the dock, you will catch nothing. Also, if you have knee problems, this is not a place to stay for you. The steps are brutal! Overall, it was a great place to stay, and wish we could have stayed longer.
The house is well-equipped and in a great location if you have a boat. There are lots of steps to climb but itâs worth it. Loved the screened in porch. *Note the bedrooms are 1 king in the master and 2 queens. Not the other way around. Would love to enjoy this house again in the summer.
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. The home was very nicely decorated, clean and had everything we needed. We came to the area to go finishing and there was room for our boats in the water at the home as well as our trailers. The home is in a very nice area, and it was quite while we were there. Each bedroom having their own private bathroom was a plus for our group. We all enjoyed our trip and would rent this property again if ever in the area. The only thing I would note for those renting in the future is the stairs to get into the home. They weren't an issue for us but should be taken into account if someone in your party can't climb a lot of stairs.
This property is tucked away from the busy areas of the coast, allowing for a little quiet, relaxing time. The home is spacious and very easily accommodated our family of 5. It's a plus to have private bathrooms in each bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals. The screened in porch was enjoyable, especially for morning coffee with a view.
The only minor issue is that the property was not properly cleaned. There was popcorn and other crumbs and dust under the couches and a dirty mess under the master bedroom dresser (someone's underwear, cigarette wrappers, etc). The sheets and comforter also had stains. It wasn't enough to upset our stay, but probably areas that the cleaning crew are overlooking and should pay attention to.
