I would absolutely recommend this property for events and weddings! I had my 70-guest wedding here and it was so beautiful. The host and care taking are extremely accommodating and kind. The view at the water front is breath taking!

This little gem in Wanchese is the perfect location for a small wedding or family gathering. We held our small wedding reception of 30 people here and it was amazing! Even when it rained and needed to be moved indoors, it was still perfect and had everything we needed. Tim and Laurie were excellent hosts and were immediately available whenever we had a question. Our entire family enjoyed the gorgeous property and also being able to stay here. We are already talking about when we will be returning. Thank you so much for hosting us and being a part of our special day!

We had THE BEST time here! The pictures do not do it justice. The entire property and vibe were fantastic! I think there were close to 75 chairs inside and outside the house so finding a comfortable place to sit should not be a problem. The host was super great with communication and attending to needs/questions. The beds are insanely comfortable. Our dogs really enjoyed sniffing every inch of the gorgeous yard. Relaxing and beautiful! We had an all around great time. I highly recommend staying here and look forward to coming back.

We absolutely loved our stay! The home is beautifully situated with peaceful marsh views by day and breathtaking sunsets every evening. It was the perfect spot for hosting our Thanksgiving gathering — the layout is made for entertaining with plenty of space for everyone to cook, dine, and relax together. Every room felt comfortable and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to unwind and feel right at home.We created so many wonderful memories here and couldn’t have asked for a better holiday retreat. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a scenic, comfortable, and well-appointed place to stay.

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property! We loved the outdoor spaces, especially for our kids and dogs to run around and play. We were fortunate to have great weather in December, which allowed us to take full advantage of the kayaks right off the dock—what a treat! The house was well-equipped with everything we needed in the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry, making our stay comfortable and convenient. With plenty of room for all 10 of us, we felt right at home. The location was also fantastic, adding to the overall experience. We can't wait to return!

Best place for a break

Many in our family are disabled veterans and this property accommodated the special needs for each of person. The two bedrooms on the first floor truly were a blessing.

Family & friends got together for my 70th birthday and had a wonderful time on this beautiful property. A great atmosphere to celebrate any special occasion. Beautiful getaway

Highly recommend not only booking the manor but also the other add on properties for this location. The home and property are straight out of a dream. The sunrises and sunsets from the backyard are amazing. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely book this home again in the future.

Love this place

This house was gorgeous! We booked all of the connecting properties and it was perfect for our friends and family. The kitchen has everything you could need, plenty of lounge space, and so comfortable! The only thing I wish I had been aware of is that the “office bedroom” is not actually a private space.

The home was perfect for our group. Large, spacious indoor and out. Everything is meticulously maintained and tastefully decorated. Plenty of gathering spots inside the home for entertaining. The house is amazing. The two younger kiddos enjoyed the bunk beds and our oldest enjoyed having his own room and space. The kitchen cane with every dish and utensil needed to cook meals during our stay. It's close enough to get to beaches and other sight seeing spots yet secluded for when you just want to relax away from it all. Plenty of entertainment spaces and room to play games. All in all a very nice place to stay.

Amazing Wedding Venue

This was the perfect place to bring our families together for 4 days as we were married in the backyard. Everyone had so much fun! Our friends joined us to watch us get married and then we celebrated with dinner, music, dancing, badminton, bags, light sabres, beach balls…lol we had a blast!

Amazing!

We had a little glitch with check in schedule, but Laurie and Vickie were amazing at making everything right and comfortable. We had a large group of 32 kids, teens, parents for my mom's birthday family reunion. The properties were very comfortable, well stocked with linens. It was an amazing stay! We would highly recommend and definitely hope to get there again!!!

Named after a magnificent magnolia tree that Laura Bostwick planted over 43 years ago, this manor is a breathtaking 5-bedroom home that sits on 7.5 acres of lush, grassy lawn. The sun-drenched windows and 20' ceilings facing west provide endless views of the boat basin, marsh, and Croatan sound.

Perfect for families or groups, the manor includes the three-bedroom Marsh Lodge guest house and the Elderberry studio apartment, ensuring that everyone has a cozy and comfortable stay. Originally built in 1930, Laura Bostwick acquired the estate in 1978 and made it her home for 43 years until her passing in 2021.

Laura was a legend in her own right, being the Great Granddaughter of Jabez Bostwick, a founding partner of Standard Oil. She loved everything about this home, the grounds, the views, and the privacy it offered, but most of all, she loved Wanchese and its people. As an avid big game fisherman and gourmet chef, Laura loved to entertain and host huge dinner parties. Her parties included a vast mix of characters from the who's who of New York City to the lowly local fishermen, making it a unique experience for all.

As the new owner, I am honored to keep her home and legacy alive. Come and experience the magic of Bostwick's Magnolia Manor for yourself, and who knows, maybe we'll even continue Laura's extravagant parties! This waterfront manor/estate is nestled in the quiet village of Wanchese, NC. The sprawling property sleeps 12-14 people. The gourmet kitchen is perfect for entertaining. The sunsets here have no rivals. The hand crafted 18ft outside dining table nestled on the garden patio makes evening cocktails and dinner while watching the sunset even more special. The convenient laundry room, movie room and spacious bedrooms will fit everyone comfortably .
