We really enjoyed our stay. It was a chance for our little family to slow down, relax, and reconnect. Sâmores were made, games were played, and good times were had by all. Highly recommend.
My daughter and myself enjoyed our stay at the cozy little cabin. Enjoyed the hot tub but wished there was better directions for using the fireplace for we never used it for lack of understanding how to light the pilot.
It's was my Fiance birthday and she mentioned wanting to do cabin, she also mentioned wanted to go to Chicago but in December was a no go. So I booked this cabin and surprised her and she was so excited with the cleaniness, decor, bathroom shower, but even more so the hot tub. It's easy to check-in and check-out. And she loved there were local stores to get stuff and Beavers Bend State Park gave it an even more cabin getaway type of feel. I would highly recommend.
The cabin itself was well kept and clean, there were just some pretty easy fixes that would have made it a lot lore welcoming and comfortable for guests. First off, there is no couch, there are only two very uncomfortably chairs that did not feel sturdy at all for you to watch TV or relax. There is plant of room for some sort of comfy couch. The bathroom door did not latch so we had to take a stool in there to be able to keep the door closed so our dogs would not push it open. The towels that were provided were not what you would expect a place that is hosting guests. They were very rough and old feeling, it would have been really nice to have some soft towels after showering. We were only provided one roll of toilet paper, we ran out the day we were leaving. I checked everywhere and found no extra. Seems like a very easy thing to provide guests with extra toiletries. One of the rules was to take the trash out and place it in the provided garbage bin, we did not have one. Every other cabin had one sitting in the front for trash. We had to put it in someone elseâs garbage can. The neighborhood was very nice and we felt safe walking our dogs. We had a nice time we just felt that these were some things other guests would want to know before booking. Hoping the owner of the cabin can take this in to consideration.
Our rating for our stay good, however we have a few suggestions that we felt were needed to make it FANTASTIC. (1) There was a Keurig machine provided without any "Coffee Pods". (2) Great shower but no shampoo/conditioner or hair dryer provided as is in most upscale Hotels. (3) In the "living area" there were two "U shaped chairs provided for watching TV, very uncomfortable after a short period of time.... Lazyboys or a small Couch would be better, with a small "throw". (4) In the kitchen sink had no disposal..... (5) Ice in two trays was provided but small Ice maker would have been better. (6) Assorted games, cards, dominos, etc. would have been better. The only other thing was that we were going to use the WIFI but the instructions (esp. password) could not access the system (maybe we just couldn't understand it)Other than these suggestions we had a great time. We would gladly be open to discuss any of the above via email if you would prefer. Sincerely Don & Mary Kay Bass
