Our home is just that - a home; it is not a ârental property." We allow and invite people of character who will treat our home with respect, the opportunity to enjoy it.
The homeâs location is superb, the best on the lake, in our opinion. We are on the east boarder of the lake utilizing/enjoying breeze cooled by crossing the water to our home; this same breeze creates mild flow and movement in the water providing an optimal swimming experience compared to other locations on the lake. The outdoor living space offers substantially more privacy than many other homes due to the design of the lower deck which receives shelter from both sides. Views of the lake can be seen in almost every room of the home. There are generous views of the lake from the well-equipped kitchen, whether you are preparing meals at the counter and sink or enjoying time with family and friends at the dining table. All four seasons are lovely at Findley Lake. We welcome babies and children; however, the home is not baby/toddler "proof." Therefore, all eyes must always remain on young guests. We have many antiques and family heirlooms throughout the home and appreciate care and mannerly behavior within our space. My children did not have "sticky fingers" as youngsters; I would appreciate the same courtesy within our home. Please keep food and drink in the kitchen or outside at the provided dining tables.
The lower deck is accessible with large well-lit steps with a handrail; a permanent ladder with safety handrails allows convenient access directly into the water. Please bring your own beach towel and sunscreen! The views are exceptional and will surely become cherished memories.
While we do not "host" any specific activities; the area has a great deal to offer during every change of the seasons. The winter months offer the opportunity to partake in a multitude of winter activities: snowmobiling, skiing, tubing, swimming at Peek'n Peak and more. The spring offers beautiful blooming flowers all around, golfing and traveling to local destinations. The summer months are packed with things to do such as swimming, fishing, tubing, skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking and so much more. The fall offers stunning views with the changing foliage on the trees, enjoying campfires with friends, hiking at Panama Rocks and attending the local fall festivals. All seasons offer great dining, festivals and road trip-accessible destinations.
Findley Lake is a public lake. However, the boat ramp is managed by The Findley Lake Watershed Foundation; please refer to their website for hours of operation pertaining to the boat ramp and boating guidelines. We follow New York state boating laws and require our guests to abide by the laws, as well.
Should you have intentions to bring a watercraft, we need to have a conversation, well in advance/prior to booking in order to determine compatibility with our docking/mooring/berthing options.
I have certain areas unavailable to guests, such as closets; I would appreciate courtesy in being polite guests. The upstairs bathroom closet is the exception, as the bath towels are contained therewithin that space. I am very generous with providing all bedding, towels, paper towels, toilet paper, tissues; please be prepared to bring your own beach towels, food, paper plates and all necessities
