102 year old historic home in quiet park district comfy and quiet
Charming 102 year old brick home , artist owned and decorated in a fun â cottage coreâ style! But donât worry.. the mattresses and appliances are all brand new and modern. Cozy up and watch tv, cook a full meal and eat at a dine in table or do your work in the dedicated office space. Take a short walk to Weracoba park for a little excercise or just a few miles away is the bustling downtown area , bordered by the worlds largest urban whitewater rafting rapids on the chatahochee !
This house was perfect for our stay. Five of us came down for our sonâs Turning Green ceremony. There was plenty of space and it was close to Ft. Benning and lots of places to eat. The house itself has so much character, every time you walk into a room you notice something different in the decorations. From the Rottweiler pictures to the drawer pulls in the kitchen with birds on them. Coralee answered all of our questions quickly. What really stood out was we had to leave early Monday morning and our son did not have to be back at the base until Monday evening. Our check out time was 11:00 am, but with little notice Coralee let him stay until 4:00 pm at no extra charge. I would definitely recommend this house.
It was a great stay for sure. Host communicated great with us and the house had a lot of character. Will definitely reach out again if/when we return to Columbus.
I would like to first thank you for going above and beyond with all you offered for our stay. This home is beautiful and itâs the perfect place to stay if you want to feel like you are staying at a home away from home. When we come back to the area I will most definitely be staying here again. Thank you again for making our stay an awesome one.
We had everything we needed to enjoy a visit to Columbus. The house was clean, cool, & very quaint. The location was near a park to walk our doggies. Nice neighbors & overall very safe area to stay. Thank you for providing extras to make our stay so nice. We loved listening to your records!
Attended 2023 Best Ranger Competition and this was a perfect location for us. Very clean, had all the amenities we needed and could even bring our two elderly dogs. The neighborhood is scenic and safe and a lovely park is a block away. Will check this one first for our next trip to Fort Benning!
Holidays in Columbus were fabulous. Coralee decorated the home in the holiday spirit, even a Christmas tree. It made being away from our home all the better. Not only a charming period craftsman but a great neighborhood. The park is a very short walk and great to get in a little exercise in the morning. Restaurants are a very close drive and loved the vibe of Broadway in the downtown area by the Riverwalk. It was a quick drive to Fort Moore to see family. Would highly recommend this spot for anyone venturing to Columbus.
We came down for our son-in-laws retirement ceremony at the National Infantry Museum. House was great with a nice screened porch to enjoy evenings or coffee in the morning. It was a plus to have 4 smart TVâs which allowed our grandchildren to watch tv in their bedrooms. Neighborhood very quiet and location close to downtown restaurants and not far from Ft Moore.
We were in town for my sonâs graduation at Ft Moore. The house was perfect. Big bedrooms with very comfortable beds, beautiful accents in the home, nice kitchen and dining area. Very welcoming! A lot of little things to help with your stay. Host was very ancces and stayed in touch in case we had any issues, which we did not. Great weekend home away from home!!
I cannot begin to describe how amazing our stay was. My son is at Ft. Moore so we booked to visit during family pass weekend. He wanted to see our dog and this place did not disappoint. The beds were comfortable, the couch- comfortable, the screened in porch with ceiling fan- couldnât live without. Anytime we visit Ft. Moore we will be staying here. â€ïžđșđž
The house is in a historical neighborhood in Columbus. A fifteen minute drive to Fort Moore, a five minute drive to downtown, and a two minute walk to a very nice park. We were comfortable with nice furniture and very comfortable beds. I have a teenage boy and girl so them having their own space was perfect for this house. Overall, very nice with a very easy check in and check out.
Location was convenient in a safe neighborhood. Windows were dirty. The heating system needed repair on the first day of our stay making that night uncomfortably cold. A repairman fixed it the next morning. One bathroom's sink drain stopper didn't open properly. Lighting was dim in all but two rooms. Only one electric outlet available in the kitchen. Comfortably furnished. Good TVs, lots of LPs and books.
House is old so has some quirks and could use updating but overall it did the job we needed.
We planned to prepare and eat all meals there. The kitchen was short on some essentials - ie no sponge no pancake turner, measuing cups or measuring spoons. The kitchen has only one outlet which is not conveniently located and only one appliance can be plugged in at once.
Living room was spacious and good seating but the only light was a small accent lamp that was not even enough light to read by.
On plus side, hot water was plentiful and the 2 bathrooms had showers which worked well. All 3 rooms had queen beds that were comfortable. The AC worked well.
There was a porta crib but no pad or sheet for the bottom which was quite stained.
Location was great. The amenities were great. I wish we couldâve enjoyed the house more but we were there for a military graduation and our soldier could not leave the base so we didnât get to enjoy the house as much as we would love liked.
