My third time staying at The Selkirk Flat, and it never disappoints. Clean, cozy and comfortable for a solo trip or couples weekend with lots to do outdoors in the area. They've really nailed the home away from home feel and I recommend this spot to everyone looking for a long weekend away.
I was here in February, and brought my wife back this time. We had a wonderful time! They've made some really nice improvements just since my stay earlier this year that made the cabin even cozier and more inviting this time around. There's plenty to do nearby as well if you need some fresh air. Couldn't recommend enough!
Janice and Brad have created a wonderful cabin where we felt at home right away. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness of the space made for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. The location was great as we were able to easily take day trips into Canada and Sandpoint, and also sit back in front of the wood stove and watch the amazing fall colors outside.
I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about the hosts being onsite as I had never experienced this before, but the way their home was setup, and located uphill, it was a needless worry. A very quiet and beautiful place. The gas range was a joy to cook on. It was an unusually cold week while I was there and rather than use the heat, I fired up the woodstove and it was lovely. If I had to give one negative it would be there was no potato peeler (lol). But don't let that stop you.... now there is, wink wink!!!
Went to the Selkirk Flat Retreat for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was perfect, nice and secluded and quiet. The wood burning stove was a nice way to heat the cabin. Just far enough out of town for seclusion but not too far away for restaurants and excursions.
Quiet, peaceful, cozy spot to get away from it all.
Selkirk Flat is far enough 'away' to feel secluded from the busyness of life, but close enough to pop into town for a meal or quick stop. Lots of hiking and beautiful waterfalls close by too. The flat itself is well appointed but maintains it's 'cabin in the woods' vibe. I loved it!
The Selkirk Flat Cabin was a magical experience. The cabin accommodations leave you wanting for nothing. Hosts Janice and Brad are two of the most genuine, real, kind people you will ever meet!
Very quaint cottage with so many extras for folks traveling with pups, doggie door and small fenced kennel were especially appreciated. Thanks for the hospitality! Sweet and friendly hosts đ
The little cabin was such a perfect location and place to stay on our way to Canada. We were looking for a remote location to hike with our dogs and this was lovely. The cabin is dog friendly with a dog door to a kennel and small fenced area. Hiking and wilderness is just minutes away and itâs the perfect cozy place to relax in the evening. Thank you.
We are local to Boundary County and love the area we live in! Feel free to ask us about our favorite spots, trails, or other activities available in North Idaho.
