Oh Jennifer, you were simply God sent! It was so great to be able to host you and your family. This week had been set aside for a college friend whom we lost last month to lung cancer. You were a ray of sunshine during a difficult time. Your humor and positive outlook is just great to be a part of and we can’t wait to host you again sometime soon on or off season! Thank you for taking such great care of the house as though it was yours!

It saddens me that you continue to misrepresent the reasons why you were evicted from our home on Friday, May 26, 2023 and take zero accountability for your actions. We had the best intentions to host your family … our place was set up beautifully for your arrival … Everything was brand new. We let you check in 3 hours early and communicated with you a number of times from the time of your booking in January to your arrival in May specifying time and time again our concerns with teenagers trying to disguise themselves as adults or adults with no intentions of being on property and booking our home for their kids for Memorial Day Weekend reiterating our house rules. 1 set of parents and grandparents came and left and shortly after a number of teenagers were coming through the front and back doors, running in and out of the house, playing loud music concerning our neighbors. We tried to contact you at the number listed on the VRBO booking directly and via VRBO Customer service to find that the phone number you listed in your booking was erroneous. This is why we asked the property manager to stop by as we live 90 minutes away and upon her arrival she found a group of 7 to 8 underage teenagers (on the first floor) playing drinking games in our home, a kitchen sink full of ice and alcohol and about 25 empty cans of beer on the floor. The house smelled like a frat house. She did not enter without permission and upon entry the kids were so rude and aggressive to her (I was on speakerphone the entire time) that I had to call the police concerned for her safety. The police arrived and requested to call them again once the owners arrived as they were made aware that we were on our way. There was zero adult supervision until almost 1hr into the incident. Underage drinking is not okay and should not be taken lightly. Many states have laws that specify that "“social hosts” are responsible for underage drinking events on property they own, lease, or otherwise control, whether or not the social host actually provides the alcohol". This is the reason why you were evicted without a refund. You violated the terms of our agreement and our trust as hosts.
