Are you coming to Sarasota on vacation or perhaps considering moving here? If yes, then the Carriage House is the perfect place to use as a base camp while you explore the area and experience the best that Sarasota has to offer. Stay 7 nights or more!

The Carriage House is right in the heart of everything. Very safe and easy walk to literally dozens of casual restaurants, cool bars and interesting shops. 5 minute walk to Selby Gardens. 10 minute walk and you are at the Sarasota Bayfront. That's a great place to enjoy the sunset. The hustle and bustle of main street is just half a mile away. They have an awesome farmer's market every Saturday morning year round. If you prefer the beach, drive 10 minutes South to Siesta Key, home of #1 beach in the USA. You are less than 4 miles from St. Armands Circle and Lido Key. It's always sunny in Sarasota and you will never run out of things to do. We provide tons of amenities including bikes, kayaks, beach chairs and a beach umbrella.

This place is so much better than a hotel room. You will have your own private guest house with nobody above or below. Main bed is a King sized luxury memory foam mattress from Tuft and Needle. Sofa pulls out to a surprisingly comfortable twin size memory foam bed. We are neat freaks. The Carriage House will be immaculately clean. Free clothes washer and dryer. Tons of amenities including; snacks, cold beverages, coffee pods, toiletries and laundry detergent. Lightning fast wifi, bikes, kayaks, beach chairs, umbrella and more available for your use and enjoyment.

Here are my top ten recommendations on things to do:
1. Start your day at Fresh Start Cafe (.2 miles, 4 min walk). The food is outstanding.
2. Walk to Selby Gardens (.4 miles, 8 min walk). World Class botanical gardens.
3. Main Street (.5 miles, 11 min walk) is packed with boutiques and restaurants.
4. Hop an Uber or drive to the Ringling museum (4.6 miles)
5. For amazing seafood, eclectic decor and live entertainment, try Owen's Fish Camp. It is .3 miles away, only a 6 minute walk.
6. Burn's Court Cinema is right next door to Owens. Not your run of the mill cineplex. It is a small theater offering first-run foreign, independent & art films along with beer, wine & popcorn.
7. St. Armand's Circle shopping and entertainment district is 3.4 miles away. Great people watching, coffee shops and boutiques.
8. Want to go to the beach? Lido Beach is consistently rated as one of the best beaches in the US. It is 4.1 miles away, about a 12 minute drive.
9. Want an up close experience with the creatures of the sea? Try Mote Marine Laboratory, it is 4.7 miles from your front door. This aquarium has: Sharks, lionfish, jellyfish, etc. You can pet stingrays, horseshoe crabs, sea cucumbers, starfish, and urchins. There's also a giant squid preserved in a tank.
10. Bayfront Park is .6 miles away, about a 13 minute walk. It has the bay on one side and downtown Sarasota on the other side. Wait for the sunset in the evenings and you will never be bored, because the pelicans entertain you. Good spot to see wild dolphins. Try O'Leary's Tiki Bar and Grill. Sunset ferry available too!

Our stay was great. Clean and in a nice location. Lots of “extra” stuff was a nice touch. Beach towels, small cooler, beach bag, snacks, sunscreen. They really go the extra mile. Great communication and fast response time as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Great spot in Sarasota

Great place for us to use as home base. Had all the necessary items and more! More than comfortable. Stephanie was a great host and met our every need. Having chairs , umbrellas for the beach was great. Looking forward to staying in the future

Great Space

Great space, everything just as listed and photos are totally accurate. The location cannot be beat. We walked to Main Street every night for dinner. Very safe area. The unit is clean, well stocked, the water pressure is amazing, and the bed is comfortable. Stephanie was readily available if we needed her, but was not invasive at all. We would stay again for sure.

Quaint & Convenient!

While we resided only for one night, we enjoyed this carriage house immensely! The bikes added alot more fun to see the area without needing to get into the car. Conveniently located to resturants and shopping. The bikes were an added amenity that allowed us to venture to a little park overlooking the bay that had the perfect spot to catch the sunset! Thank you!

This was such a perfect place to rent! Excellent location, the room was perfect for the two of us. Stephanie was a great host and helped us with all our questions and needs. She had bikes and kayaks and an amazing notebook with information about the area and all the appliances in the rental. Hoping to come to this are again.

The caretaker was exactly as described and had all of the details that make it a great stay, from a great variety of coffees to everything that might be needed while on vacation. Gem in a quiet, quaint neighborhood

The property was well taken care of and easy to access. There was almost every amenity you could need and we wished we had been able to stay longer to utilize them. Everything was clean and well kept and the instructions clear and simple. All in all, it was a fabulous place and experience.

Location! Nicely Appointed Carriage House

The location was perfect for downtown access. We walked to the entire Bay Park, downtown, and surrounding neighborhoods—excellent shops and restaurants. Sarasota has a friendly, warm atmosphere with a plethora of events. This is the place to stay if you want to experience what downtown offers. The space was more than comfortable for two people, and the king-size bed was a haven of relaxation. We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute. Thank you, Stephanie! Your commitment to hosting and providing a welcoming environment has shone through. We will most likely be choosing this carriage house again. Gigi & Barry

A quick but fun stay

This above-the-garage apartment was clean and functional. The host family members, who live in the main house, were lovely and ready to answer all questions. The location is midway between downtown Sarasota and the fun southside neighborhood. I would stay here again.

Cozy Carriage House

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Carriage House and hope to visit again! The carriage house is smaller, but it was a perfect fit for the two of us. Stephanie was a wonderful property manager and all the amenities (kayaks, bikes, grill, patio, etc) were wonderful. She even let us borrow their shark tooth finder, and we were able to find some shark teeth near Venice Beach! It is helpful to have a compact car since parking is a little tight. Unfortunately our trip was cut short due to hurricane Milton. Stephanie was flexible with us as our plans changed a couple times due to Milton. We most certainly will consider renting from Stephanie again if we take a trip to Florida again!

Nicely equipped cottage house in great location!

My husband and I enjoyed the cozy cottage house for 6 nights; it had the perfect amount of space for the two of us and was well stocked. The location is near many restaurants and downtown Sarasota -- many within walking distance. Stephanie, the owner, was quick communicating and very gracious (always asked if we needed anything more) - thank you! We used the beach bag, cooler, beach towels, beach chairs & umbrella that were available in the house (great since we traveled from out of the state). You cannot be the feasibility, convenience and location this cottage house had to offer!

Our first time staying in Sarasota and we wanted to stay in a location that was walking distance to downtown. The place where we stayed was all around perfect. Had everything we needed. Beautiful Weekend Stay

We stayed at this beautiful downtown studio during a quick weekend trip down the coast. While it was short, it was nothing less than pleasant. We had a chance to chat with Stephanie in passing and she was very helpful with a small problem we had. The furnishings were very nice and the bed was big enough for a couple. This is an upstairs unit so that should be noted, but the stairs are sturdy and safe for use. The studio is close to downtown and plenty to do. The book in the room is nice for sharing places to go and things to see. I would recommend Stephanie's place to others looking for a comfortable, quiet place to enjoy while in town.

Lovey space and owners.

It was a beautiful, private space. The location close to so much. The owner communication was great-very comprehensive and always very timely. I loved that the room included a book with lots of information and suggestions. The Amenities were amazing - bicycles with locks, kayaks with a cart and instructions, cold drinks, washer/dryer, etc. My only frustration was that the listing did not mention more clearly that it was on the second floor.
