From The Davis Ridge, witness the sunrises and sunsets over the mountains from the balcony, take a dip in the heated pool, get cozy and warm next to the wood fireplace (free firewood included), cook a delicious meal on the outdoor grill, and end the day toasting from the balcony and cuddled by the fire. You're only a few minutes from all the major sites and attractions in the area. The Davis Ridge is calling.
The space: The Davis Ridge is a spacious 1 Bed, 1 full bath home that also has a full size pull-out sofa bed. There is a full kitchen and large outdoor balcony that overlooks the ski resorts and mountains connecting them.
A cozy fireplace, with free firewood included, will provide you with the perfect ambiance throughout the day.
There are trails right from the parking lot that take you as far as you want to go. You are surrounded by the beautiful wilderness of the Canaan Valley, yet you are only five short minutes to Davis. Thomas is only a couple minute past that. It's the best of both worlds.
There are no reasons to worry about the access in the winter. The roads to and from the property and the driveway on the property are all plowed at the first sign of snow and there is no steep road or driveway to drive on.
Guest access: Guests have free access to: -The hiking trails straight from the property and into the Monongahela National Forest. -The heated swimming pool -Basketball and tennis courts -Picnic areas and charcoal grill
Other things to note: Please refer to the physical manual on the coffee table and check out the Canaan Valley tourism site for more information on the area. If you're wanting trail maps of the area, Strava and AllTrails are both good apps to use. Download offline Google Maps if you're headed further away from civilization. It's a must.
This was a return trip to Davis Ridge. The unit was clean and everything worked perfectly. The property is accurately described and the pictures are accurate as well. We highly recommend the location for a quiet, relaxing, get-away.
Very pleasant experience. Clean and well maintained place to stay in the mountains. Cozy and quiet. Nice decoration and good view. Beautiful surroundings! Friendly people and good food. Great for hiking and walking around town. It was great! Thanks!
the apartment was amazing, super cozy, has everything you need and very close to a lot of fun things in the area. the owner is kind and responsive, willing to help at all times. the state park was beautiful. everything was beautiful, iâd recommend anyone to stay here.
Had a great stay at Jared's place. He was a great host, the place was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near both Timberline and Canaan. One thing to note - cell phone coverage may be iffy depending on carrier. Suggest making note of check-in code before you leave home. Jared's wifi is great for streaming or if you need to hop on a meeting while you're there.
We loved this one bedroom mountain getaway! You could tell Jared the host loves it too! To open your own getaway, wanting to share how special this area is to him with others says a lot. The decor is masculine with sweet touches. Love the lights on the mantle. Love the lights on the porch. Nice big wine glasses. . Easy access to the Valley and slopes. Would stay here again.
I loved staying here--it was so convenient for so many activities in Davis and beyond. Everything was clean and well taken care of. I can't wait to come back for my next visit!
This place was so nice and convenient to everything we wanted to do. If there are more than 2 people staying you may want to bring an air mattress as the pull out couch was not comfy, but other than that I canât complain and we had an amazing time!
We had a wonderful stay at the Davis Ridge/Beaver Ridge apartment. The apartment was clean and inviting when we arrived and everything we need for a comfortable stay was there waiting for us. I had my wife and 2 grandsons (6yo and 10 yo) and had plenty of sleeping space with the pull out sofa and queen bed. We were within a manageable drive to all the sites we wanted to see. We were able to go to Smoke Hole Cavern, Seneca Rocks, Spruce Knob and Spruce Knob Lake, Blackwater Falls, and even went to Cass Scenic Railroad without feeling overwhelmed from driving. I can only hope this apartment is available the next time I can make it to the area.
We were very pleased with our stay, and greatly enjoyed the surrounding views and our visit to the state parks. Our only disappointment was that some local businesses weren't open until the day we had to leave.
We had a little trouble checking in because I hadn't received the door code and couldn't get a signal. Luckily a cleaning lady had the wifi password so I could contact the host & he called me with the code
This cute condo has charm and itâs in a beautiful location. Unfortunately it wasnât as clean as it should be - black hairs on the shower wall and bathroom floor. The hair dryer was in a cupboard next to and touching the toilet plunger. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were both flat and lumpy. The bed squeaked very loudly. The home was not well-equipped: just one roll of toilet paper, no kitchen sponge or scrubber, only one dishwasher pod, no soap or gel for the shower, no bath mat. Overall this was a very average stay at a good price.
We had a lovely stay in WV! The condo was well located to get to both some amazing wilderness (Dolly Sods via Blackbird Knob Trailhead) & into Thomas/Davis. The cafe scene is solid in Thomas. Thanks so much!
This lovely little place was great for our short get away. It is exactly as advertised. Clean. Comfortable. Good location. Great value for the price. We'll be sure to return.
The place looked similar to the picture uploaded. It felt cozy and warm. There were all of the essentials available inside the apartment. There were other amenities within the property, which we did not use but we saw. We had a really nice weekend and created a lot of memories.
Just be careful driving around the mountains, there are few sharp turns around.
We enjoyed our stay at the Davis Ridge. The mantle lights are a nice touch. It was conveniently located to the small towns of Davis and Thomas, along with Blackwater Falls State Park, Dolly Sods Wilderness, & Seneca Rocks. Communication from the property manager was prompt and attentive. We even saw 4 inches of snow the last morning we were there! We went to see Blackwater Falls that we had also seen 3 days earlier. The snow framed the falls beautifully!
Avid traveler, avid reader, avid dancer. I'm avid about a lot of things that make me happy. One of my greatest joys, though, is making sure my guests have the best stay possible at a price that is affordable.
Location to everything, pool, firewood, trail access from the parking area, views...you can stay a whole year here and still not see everything or do everything that there is to do.
