This beautifully restored 1887 Farmhouse (which sits on the National Register of Historic Places), lies just 4 miles west of downtown Montrose with plenty of elbow room. Everything about this home feels amazing with brand new finishes throughout the home while paying homage to its historic roots. Original and now refinished hardwood floors and high ceilings compliment the marble countertops and fully tiled bathrooms throughout the home. Enjoy the best of both worlds with the peace and quiet of farm country while having both the amenities of town and the great outdoors at your fingertips. The home features 2 primary bedrooms with king beds, a guest bedroom with 1 queen bed, and a kid's room with 2 twins. ALL 3 of the bathrooms were built from scratch and feature high-end fixtures throughout. Enjoy the Buzzard's Gulch (biking & hiking) and Electric Hills (mtn. biking) trails just minutes from the front door along with hundreds of miles of prime road biking pavement out the front door. Thousands of acres of hunting and OHV land is just a little further down the road towards the Uncompahgre Plateau (a perfect base camp for the non-hunters in your group). Combine this 4Br home with the complimentary 3Br home next door (VRBO #3172157) for an incredible 7Br family compound. Amenities include: great property for pets, 55" flat screen tv with internet, wood burning stove, dishwasher, A/C, forced-air heat, and tons of parking. We have reserved approximately 2 acres for our guests which include a spacious lawn areas, fire pit, and basketball court. The rest of the acreage is reserved for private use and our active farm operation which we ask all guests to respect. NOTE: The vrbo mapping system isn't quite correct. This home is located approximately 1/4 south of the Oak Grove Elementary School on Highway 90.
Arrived to a wonderful home. Everything was just as described. Easy to check in and find rooms. Perfect location for everything we needed to do. Would highly recommend anyone looking for a pleasant place to stay to check this home out.
What a beautiful property and location! Stayed here with my family and lived the history of the home but appreciated all the work done to keep it updated but still preserve it's farmhouse charm. We also ran into the owners in telluride and they are great people, would stay here again!
The house had a lot of character and we loved the historic aspects of it. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were all updated and beautiful. JJ was very accommodating and responsive!
Check in was fine. Kitchen facilities were great and everything was accessible. My only suggestion would be to make available a full size refrigerator in the kitchen area. Although one could be accessed in the unfinished basement, a full sized unit in the kitchen would have have much more convenient.
We had a wonderful stay at the Historic Spring Creek Farmhouse in Montrose, the kitchen and dining area was perfect for cooking, dining and spending quality time with friends and family and the expansive well kept yard invited guests to play, read and rest under the cottonwood trees in the pleasant breeze. Our two puppies also loved the property and the house was the perfect base camp for hiking the Black Canyon, Blue Lakes Trail and Mt Sneffels.
We were in Colorado for a week with friends to visit the mountains and this was a great place to relax and unwind. We loved the country setting and the rustic farmhouse feel. We spent almost as much time outside as we did inside during the evenings. Would absolutely stay here again!
We loved this house so much. It accommodated our group so well. We had plenty of room to spread out. The property is immaculate and the house is well stocked. The host is very easy to communicate with and answered all our questions quickly. Highly recommend this property- we will be back!
We had a wonderful time on the property cooking and just hanging out. We also used the extra house for our extended family. The addition of pickleball was a hit. Thank you for such a beautiful home.
This property was everything we needed for our visit to see family and mountains! The house and the grounds are beautiful and the host thought of everything. We had all the tools we needed to cook (loved using the grill and the fire pit to cook out) and plenty of towels, toys, floats, even a speaker, to enjoy our time in the pool. There were 8 of us in our group and we enjoyed having plenty of room to cook together and play games in the evenings. We will be back!
Charming old farmhouse on a quiet agricultural setting, we enjoyed our time there hiking and relaxing. Loved the well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds.
