Nestled just two blocks from Cuscaden Park and the community pool on a quiet street sits Casa Grande. She's a lovely renovated 1908 split bungalow. Casa Grande is the two bedroom main house and La Casita is the mother-in-law apartment located at the back of the property, also available for rent.
The sun drenched front porch offers plenty of seating overlooking a picket lined front yard. Street parking available. Keyless locks make for easy excess. Check-in is a breeze. Weâve taken the time to pay attention to the details making sure you have everything you need for a fantastic stay.
Centrally located in Ybor's Historic Landmark District, 7 minutes to downtown and less than 5 to the highways. Spacious and thoughtfully equipped for all of your holiday needs. Great for small families, couples, friends, & business trips.
My brother Kyle and his pup Meera live on the adjacent lot. They have a separate entrance from Casa Grande on the east side of the property. You will share the detached laundry room.
VM Ybor is a historically and culturally rich neighborhood. Conveinently located just outside of the city proper and 10 blocks from Centro. VM is up and coming. Casa Grande is in a safe area and our neighbors have been a part of the community for decades. Please do your diligence on Ybor's history and the VM neighborhood when booking your stay.
Mel is fantastic! Excellent & fast communication. Great location for our Metallica concert this weekend. Beds were comfortable. Loved cooking on a gas stove! Thank you Mel for being a great host!
âąConvenient locationâąsuper cute updated rentalâąso clean (which we greatly appreciated)âąsupplied extras, that were nice to have on handâąhost is responsive and easy to contact Highly recommend!
clean and nicely appointed home in fun area. short walk to restaurants and night life and the trolley to downtown. very responsive and helpful host and will stay here again when back in the area.
Simply put, this is one of the best rental properties I have stayed in! It was very nicely updated, roomy, clean, and had everything you could need and more! The kitchen was well stocked down to the spices. Plenty of games, cards, books, extra towelsâŠeven sunscreen. Uber to downtown Tampa was easy and reasonable. A few other reviews talked about the condition of the area. It is an old, historic neighborhood in a city. You will find narrow streets and some run down homes sitting next to million dollar properties. Nothing about Casa Grande felt unsafe for four women traveling together. The host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with! If I could give this 10 stars, I would!
Super cute home located close to historic Ybor with easy options to get to downtown Tampa. Perfect for activities during the day and then cooking or chilling at home in the evening. Mel, the host, is super helpful and a great communicator!
This was overall a great experience and I would definitely recommend this location.. it was close to everything you needed.. restaurants, groceries, pharmacy, beaches, water⊠and my favourite cigar / whiskey bars. 8 minutes from Yborâs main strip which is a must experience. Thanks again.!
Mel's place was wonderful! We had an amazing stay and Mel was fantastic with communication! The bungalow was beautiful, roomy, clean and had easy access to everywhere we had to travel during our stay. It was a quiet neighborhood with lovely neighbors! I would highly recommend this place to others and will return if we need to visit Tampa again
The home was exactly as pictured. We only stayed 2 nights, but the neighbors to the left were super friendly, the owner was responsive and we were not far from Busch Gardens or Clearwater. The only thing is that the ownerâs brother lives in the back in a separate property and that wasnât disclosed until after we booked, but it wasnât an issue. We just used the front porch, which was big and comfy. My family loved it here.
3 generations of our family stayed here for a ladies weekend. We had coffee on the patio in the morning, shopped in the area and rode the streetcar from Ybor City to the Tampa convention center and back. Mel was so welcoming and the house was spotless and relaxing. Decor was stylish and fun and we loved the meme game. Lots of board games and supplies for a comfortable home away from home stay!
My family and I had a fantastic Ybor experience. Casa Grande is as described. I was personally impressed with the attention to details. So much so than I'm booked to come back next year. A short drive or Uber will have you in the heart of the excitement of Ybor's 7th Avenue. Thank you Mel for being a gracious host.

The stay was great. The house was perfect for 6 adults. My friends and I had a great time in Tampa. The neighborhood is up and coming but I felt very safe walking around. We were able to walk to La Segunda Bakery, the USâs oldest Cuban Bakery, each morning for some Cuban bread, coffee, and pastries. We did witness a rooster arguing with a cat in the neighborhood which was quite entertaining! The rooster won but the cat was ok. I highly recommend staying here if you want a central location with easy access to all of Tampaâs attractions, especially in Ybor City and Downtown.
Our host thought of everything! The VRBO has a name: Casa Grande and a story which our host shares. I was excited about staying here even before we walked-in. However when walking up the porch stairs and through the front door of this lovely home, I was even more excited. The attention to detail was beyond impressive. Its interior appearance looked directly out of an interior magazine. WE had an absolutely lovely time hanging out, playing games and even sleeping in the beautiful rooms. Mel was attentive and available to help with my extra requests and needs. Five Stars all the way around!
Our family absolutely loved our week at Casa Grande! It felt like home, only better!
While we were in town we had local family come over to visit for the day...perfect place to catch up with one another!
Love the different areas of the home to relax...mornings on the front porch, reading on the comfortable living room couch or enjoying a fun game, a cozy breakfast at the table in the "office" that doubled in the evening as a place for the kids to play a few games..cooking together in the kitchen and enjoying food and conversation around the dining room table to a quiet night relaxing on the back deck with patio lights and a candle on the table.
Filled the house with fun and laughter and took home some great memories!
Beds are super comfortable.
A highlight is that it was an easy 40 minute drive to Tiki Gardens beach access on Indian Shores to enjoy the beautiful Gulf of Mexico!
Melissa and Kyle are excellent hosts and have done a beautiful work with the home!
We look forward to returning!
Whether your on your own, a couple on a honeymoon or a family with kids of any age... Casa Grande is perfect and will only get better!
4 adult men arrive at the house to find a man living in the garage 6 ft away from the house.
All four beds had hair in them! Not one hair, lots of hairs, not one bed all four beds in three different rooms! You wouldnât find this acceptable anywhere or with anyone. The neighborhood most homes have bars on the windows. Not a safe area? After listening to some locals I would guess not! We moved out immediately! The Host said the guy living in garage her brother. The hairs in bed we would find in hotel rooms. I spend 3-4 nights a week in hotels 3 months a year working and never found hairs in the bed! Fabulous is not how we would described this property! For four adult men not being comfortable staying in this house, moved out and went and stayed in hotel rooms is saying a lot!
If you want clean house without hairs in your bed, host found this to be acceptable, we didnât!
A neighborhood you could feel comfortable, safe walking around.
Look for another property! Nothing Fabulous at this property.
The bungalow was perfect for us. Mel was a treat to work with and made our stay simple. The place had everything we needed, and was decorated vey well. Id absolutely stay there there any time I am in town.
I love people, new places, and adventure. I own an Interior Design Studio downtown. Once upon a time, I was a yacht stewardess traveling the high seas working with crew from around the globe to bring top-notch hospitality services to our guests. I love that I can offer people a great experience right here in Tampa. Live the life you love, Love the life you live.
Casa Grande offers a true sense of hygge. A quiet haven to explore a new city, short walk the trolly and Centro, Downtownâs nightlife, a great food and bar scene, plus lots of art and history. Whatever brings you to the Tampa Bay area you appreciate the convenient location to everything!
Our home was built in 1908 and is part of the National Landmark District, VM Ybor. You can walk to the heart of Ybor City in less than 1o minute or catch a trolly to downtown! Our community park one block East offers a huge pool and splash pad as well as Pickle Ball courts.
