This Southwestern Modern Mountain Cottage welcomes you to the heart of Deer Creek Canyon 15 minutes from Red Rocks Amphitheater, 30 minutes to Denver, and just minutes from the nearest hiking/biking trails for the summer and easy access to I70 to hit the slopes during the winter months.
With countless updates and lots of love, weâve been able to take what was once an abandoned house and turned it into a cozy home full of character tucked away in the peaceful foothills of the Rockies for others to experience and enjoy.
*DISCLAIMER*
The hot tub has been broken and out of order since 2021, we do not advertise having a usable hot tub on our property.
Our home is nestled on over an acre of land tucked away in the foothills of the mountains. Please ensure that you are comfortable with wild life and an isolated, private getaway. We cannot control what animals live nearby our property and decide to pay a visit nor when they do! Embrace them and treat them with love. :)
My partner and I have stayed in many cabins / cottages around Colorado and this property was one of our favorites. Many times the place isn't as pretty as it seemed in photos or is less comfortable, not the case with our stay, we were very pleased on both front! The home was very well equipped, especially in the kitchen, and had very reasonable requests on clean up during check out.
The house itself seemed clean but the outside images were very outdated and misleading. Giant weeds practically blocked the walkway, the host is unresponsive and there is zero cell service so make sure you have check in details before getting there. Windows without screens were left open so there were a lot of flies (including large horseflies) inside. I could see this being a better experience in fall or winter but would not recommend staying here in the summer due to the unkempt exterior and bugs. We were not comfortable staying with our baby so left the same day we got there.
This was the perfect hub for my friend and In to stay for a girls trip involving hiking and a Red Rocks concert. Great location to unplug. This had everything we needed -2 beds, deck, fridge, easy access, lounge space, etc. I will definitely stay here again!
Low ratings due to no communication from host resulting in not being able to stay at this property. Check in was supposed to be at 4pm. I messaged the host multiple times about check in details, numerous calls and voicemails, and texted with no response. Vrbo cancelled our trip and gave us a refund after well over an hour on the phone with them attempting to find us somewhere to stay. Host finally messaged back nearly 3 hours after check in after trip had already been cancelled.
My husband and I took a quick getaway to see a concert at Red Rocks and decided to bring our goldendoodle along. The cottage, tucked away in the mountains, was the perfect escape. Check-in was seamless, and the lack of cell service wasnât an issue for usâit actually added to the charm. We stayed on the first floor for easy access, though there was a unique upstairs room with a steep staircase that we chose not to use. Most of our time was spent on the deck, sipping coffee in the mornings and stargazing at night. Such a charming and peaceful place! If weâre ever back in the area, weâd love to stay again.
We loved our stay and would definitely come back.
It was nice to be away from the city in the fresh air.
The bed was very comfortable and we had no issues.
It worked for what we needed for a quick weekend trip to go to a Red Rocks concert. Cute little towns nearby.
Super nice kitchen new flooring throughout nice living room dining room, in desperate need of windows and screens, no windows usable, more curtains/shades needed, upstairs unusable during the summer can't open windows to get breeze at night, wouldn't recommend anyone over 50 using steep stairs especially with luggage
What a fantastic place! Clean, updated, awesome kitchen. Super comfortable beds! We really enjoyed sitting on the deck enjoying the Outdoors. Thank you so much, we will definitely stay again!
The property was very nice. The location was exactly for what we had hoped: quiet and secluded, yet a short, easy drive to Littleton and Red Rock Amphitheater. With the exception of two hiccups we couldn't have been happier.
The only AC for the property was a small window unit in the first floor bedroom, and it was not able to keep up. There was an AC unit upstairs that needed to be vented outside, but it wasn't, so it was useless.
On our last day we lost all water while brushing our teeth. No water in the bathroom or the kitchen. Not sure what that was about, but it sure made it tough to get ready for the day.
All in all the property has fabulous potential. The hosts just need to take it to the next level.
It was such fun being at the cabin and watching the birds. It was near to Red Rocks, easy to get back to Denver to see the sights, yet out of the way in a lovely canyon. They put a lot of thought into the remodel and it shows!
This was the cutest home-rental I've ever stayed in! Far enough from town where you feel alone with nature, but close enough to be convenient! The home is decorated very lovely, something you would see on a Pinterest board. Sophie provided plenty of extra towels, dishes, cleaning supplies... If you are visiting Red Rocks, this is a perfect place to stay!
I hate to leave this review because this rental has great potential if not for one major issue. First, what we loved about the cabin is it was beautifully updated inside. Very cozy! You can see the owners put a good deal of money into the decor and furniture. The rental was also supplied with more than enough paper products and even had bottled waters in the fridge. Unfortunately, the outside needs the same attention. The grounds around the cabin are unkept and the house was not sealed up well, which made us feel not so safe from critters and animals. The French doors that open to the deck house a doggie door with a plastic flap. The attempt to seal it was not affective and we had to place a piece of furniture in front of it to keep it somewhat closed. When we arrived, we also found a small window upstairs (which apparently housed a portable air conditioner unit) left open. That night we were woken by noises in the cabin, and to our surprise found a large rodent inside on the window seal! We did manage to trap it in the tube of the air conditioning unit and had to drag the entire unit down the very steep stairs from the loft! That night we had to stay up to inspect the cabin for any more critters! We found a very large spider on the bathroom shower curtain and scat from the rodent throughout the cabin. Needless to say, I did not sleep well at all the rest of our stay! Hoping these issues are taken seriously and fixed before the next guest stays.
This property is truly a hidden gem! We loved being in among nature in this cozy well decorated home. The neighborhoood is quiet and perfect driving distances from the red rocks amphitheater and restaurants/shops.
It is about 15 minutes into the mountains with little to no service. It was amazing to disconnect and be among nature but if youâre someone who needs reliable internet and cell service consider elsewhere.
We are short so this didnât bother us but the shower is not ideal for taller people. The beds are comfy and there are plenty of cozy inside/outside spots to sit and take in the beauty around you!
I would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in this area. It is as charming as the pictures show, very clean and has all of the necessary little things you need to be functional (coffee machine, kitchen supplies, bath towels and etc). The host is so kind and responsive - she was amazing.
If you stay here, donât miss out on going to Red Rocks. Youâre too close not to go! Enjoy.
This place was perfect for a long weekend getaway. It had everything you could have needed. It was decorated so cute although the bed was a little uncomfortable. Sophie was a wonderful host and she replied fast when we had any questions. I would definitely stay here again!
We loved our stay, and the unit was just what we had hoped. Very spacious and peaceful! The host was very helpful and quick to answer any questions. We would definitely stay here again!
This cabin is in a nice quiet location. Close to RedRocks Amphitheater. Standing on the front porch you could catch a view of hummingbirds, butterflies and other wonderful birds. It was a comfortable stay! For those who are expecting perfection, I do feel I need to add that there are a few things that could use some attention, not anything that was critical to us. I plan to let the owners aware so they can have the opportunity to fix what we noticed. Sophie was quick to respond when we did reach out. One thing we didn't realize before our stay, that should be made known, there is no cell service so you do have to rely on the Internet for wi-fi calling. The Wi-fi worked well. You will definitely feel like you are in the mountains which is what we wanted!!
My husband and I chose this lovely cottage due to its proximity to Red Rocks but would come back just to enjoy this gorgeous spot on its own. The location and ease of getting back and forth to the concerts we were seeing was fantastic, but location aside, this cottage is a perfect getaway spot on its own. It is bright, cozy and had everything we needed to feel relaxed. From the serene deck where you can sit and listen to the creek and birds for hours on end to the bright open layout - this was all we hoped for and more. The cottage is ideally located for hiking and exploring. Sophie was a great host and clearly has put significant time and energy into caring for this cottage. We are already planning our next trip and can't wait to return!
Luke & Sophie Gregory bought this home in 2019 when it was old and abandoned. We spent all of quarantine updating and renovating this modern mountain cottage into our getaway of our dreams. We hope to share the beauty and serenity of Deer Creek Canyon with visitors near and far.
What's not to love? The cozy cottage is surrounded by thousands of beautiful trees, wildlife, and peace and quiet. Hiking trails are within minutes, Red Rocks Amphitheater is around the corner, and both i-70 and Downtown Denver are accessible within 20 minutes.
