âWindsongâ is a lovely and unpretentious post-and-beam house perfect for enjoying the beauty of Nantucket and gathering together for meals, games, and relaxing. It has everything you need, unless you prefer a vacation home on the fussier, fancy side.
We absolutely loved the privacy and remote feel of Windsong. I didn't have to worry about my kids being near a busy road, we got the most phenomenal sunsets, and could easily bike to Dionis beach and elsewhere because of how close the bike path is! This house was like a warm hug if you are familiar with the traditional nantucket experience. We really loved our stay and felt like we had everything we needed - bikes, coolers, sand toys, boogey boards are already there. We will definitely be back.
My family had a terrific stay. The house was perfect, the weather was perfect, just a fantastic stay all around. This was our 5th time on Nantucket and this was was our favorite place we've stayed. We would definitely return!
We had a great week. The property is so nice and has easy access to Dionis, Madeket, and town. Having access to bikes for our crew with a quick ride to get onto the bike path was so fun. Property management was responsive and kind. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
Enjoyed our stay. Dionis was a great area. Centrally located between surf side/ Cisco, Madaket and town.
House had all amenities you needed and kitchen was well stocked with everything you needed. Views were awesome!
The house sits on one of the highest points on Nantucket and has stunning 360 degree views. It is surrounded by land bank land so it is very private and quiet. The kids loved the loft and 5 boys slept there as harmoniously as 5 boys can be anywhere! It is a quick bike ride to town and down the road from Dionis. We had a great family vacation.
The open layout and four bedrooms worked perfectly for our family. We squeezed ten around the table, and the kitchen is well designed and very functional. Loved the antiques, books, paintings and distant views of water, and privacy. House was clean, though I'd suggest more frequent washing of bedspreads, living room slipcovers. Didn't make use of bikes or ping pong so can't speak to those, but overall we were very satisfied.
We were in awe of the beautiful views and decor of the house. You can tell the family really cares about the property. The house was stocked with every thing you would need to cook, do laundry, explore the island and enjoy the space. The sunset was unbelievable and the breeze through the windows kept us cool all week. The location is close enough to every thing but still feels private and SO quiet. All you hear is birds chirping. We will definitely be back next summer!
Beautiful old home with gorgeous view. Just needs a little TLC
We had an amazing week at your house and absolutely loved the character and charm. The views were breathtaking and Iâm sure if we were able to bring a vehicle getting around would have been easier. The one big thing was cleanliness. We know itâs an old beach house but the cleaning in between stays is lacking. Counters were dirty and there was old shrimp left behind the garbage which created a smell for a day. It doesnât look like anyone has attempted to dust an a while ( house was filled with spider and Cobb webs). We also had a nice issue at night so maybe a few traps would help. All in all nothing that hindered our stay but just would have been nice for the money we spent.
Thanks!
This is a very unique post and beam house with a stunning view of the sunset from the widows watch. The house is in an excellent location to walk to Dionis beach, or bike to Madaket and Cisco beaches.
Unfortunately the house is showing signs that no one actually lives there anymore, and is being rented out non stop. It was missing basic amenities when we arrived, and towels for our family. The house had been surface cleaned, but is in need of a deep clean, and refresh of bedding which was quite worn.
The owner was very responsive to our needs that could be addressed while we were there.
We fell 100% in love with Nantucket, and this lovely home was a big part of it. The views, the open-ness, being surrounded by parkland - honestly: magical. The house reminded me a little of an Adirondack "camp" I've stayed in before - charming, rustic, comfortable, and a wonderful space for family and friend gatherings. Todd and his on-island crew were amazing. Can't wait to come back!
Todd,
My familyâs stay at the Dionis property exceeded our expectations and coupled with beautiful weather our week was 5 star. Would definitely rent this property again and Todd, the homeowner, was easy to work with and very responsive to any and all correspondences.
For several years our family has stayed at this location in the same house. The proximity to town and the beaches is fantastic.
The house is perfect for a family with young children especially being a post and beam home.
In addition, the owner, Todd Becker, (while being across country in California) is always accessible and responds to whatever issue is needed to be addressed. He is accommodating and willing to assist however he can, to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
This home is a gem for us in the summer on ACK! Truly home away from home!!
We have stayed in this lovely post and beam in the past but this time it was not cleaned when we arrived at check in. The owner was contacted and it was immediately resolved. We had a very nice stay in this charming home.
We enjoyed our time at this home. Six bicycles, a couple boogie boards, and beach chairs were a bonus. Two decks for relaxing and access to roof top for incredible views. Rustic traditional Nantucket decor and feel. Tranquil and exactly what we needed.
My family had a wonderful three week stay- We have been coming to the island for over thirty years- and staying at the Eel point/Dionis area was such a treat. The location was easily accessible to not only the nearby beach, but also Town, Madaket, Cisco, and mid-island (grocery store/airport etc) We were close to it all.
The house itself was very comfortable with a rustic earthy feeling- it sits right in the Nantucket land bank preserve, which allowed for unobstructed views of the ocean and moors. You could climb atop to the widows walk for the 360 degree view, which was spectacular. You do get a fair share of wildlife- deers, bunnies, insects, spiders, crickets, birds, an occasional field mouse- which coming from the city enhanced the stay even more. It was perfectly situated for sunsets in the evening on the deck.
The inside of the house had a rustic french country feel with white stucco walls, dark wood beams, and oil paintings in every room- which was lovely, warm, and welcoming. The beds were comfortable, and there was a good amount of natural light in the day.
If I could make any suggestions it would be to update the kitchenware- making sure there were complete sets of forks, glassware, and perhaps providing a lobster pot. But the house had most everything we needed. Great laundry room, bikes for the beach, a nice beach umbrella.
We would stay here again, without question--and the memories of this family trip to ACK will go down as a very special one, thanks to this house.
We had a great couple weeks in this classic Nantucket post and beam house. The house is perfect for children and an easy lay out for 2 families to share. We loved the location; a few miles from Nantucket Town and also a quick bike ride or drive to Dionis and Madaket beach. The house is very private, with beautiful views and stunning sunsets. The owner, Todd, was extremely helpful and responded quickly to any questions or issues we had. We look forward to returning next summer!
Todd Becker (owner) has been fantastic to do business with for the past 4 years. Despite being 3,000 miles away, heâs accessible whenever an issue needs to be addressed regardless of big or small.
The location is terrific to anywhere on the island and the Post & Beam construction is perfect for kids.
I look forward to next summer as our 2 weeks always goes way too fast.
If ACK is your idea of fun, this home and itâs owner are perfect!
Now if Todd can talk to God & make the weather always perfect...-)
Rustic accommodations with so many positive amenities
My family of ten just had a wonderful week Nantucket. Morning and evening views to the ocean with spectacular sunsets....close proximity to Dionis Beach and others.....first floor space was perfect to enjoy everyone but still not feel crowded....deck and yard were wonderful ...canât say enough about it. It was lovely to have games, beach towels, etc. provided.....we hope to go back again next summer! I canât tahank Todd enough for providing us with his home. We have rented on Nantucket for 30+ years and all agreed this was one of the best places to be.
I've come to Nantucket for more than 40 summers, first as a teen and now with my own family. While we live in California, we treasure our summer vacations in this house. Even though it's on the opposite coast, the time spent traveling seems short when you are headed for this magical island. We leave the house full of family photos and my mother's oil paintings, and hope you'll feel at home when you stay here.
I come from a family of architects. The whole family collaborated to designed and build this post-and-beam house in 1980. It combines a traditional New England salt box structure with a very open, contemporary living area framed by exposed rough hewn beams. And windows everywhere to take in the beauty of the western moors of Nantucket.
This vacation home has a wonderful open feeling ideal for gathering with family and friends and entertaining. It is privately located with panoramic views to the north and west, overlooking 50 unimpeded acres of open conservation land. The sunsets are incredible.
