A nature loverâs paradise in the beautiful mountains of Colorado! Nestled between the majestic 14,000 ft Collegiate Peaks of the Sawatch Mountains and the southern tip of the Mosquito Mountain Range, this peaceful getaway lies in the amazing Arkansas Valley. This property has 69+ acres to explore. Take a walk in the meadow by the creek, sit by the pond and enjoy the wildlife, fish to your heartâs content, or simply find your âhappyâ space and enjoy all the amazing views!
You aren't just getting a house - you are getting a property! The house is good - perfectly clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. Fire pit right off the front porch for easy marshmallow roasting. Another fire pit down the lane alongside Chalk Creek, with lots of places to drop in a fishing line. In the other direction is the pond with a dock and paddle boat. The views from the upstairs of Mt. Princeton are amazing!
Property did not meet our expectations. We regret booking it. Hosts were slow to respond, not sympathetic to our concerns, and cut off communications when we requested a resolution. Plusses:âąHas a peaceful spot along the creekâąMountain viewsâąWell-stocked kitchenâąComfortable mattressâąQuality bath towelsDrawbacks:âą Dock in disrepair with broken floats making it unstable, and unusable without risk to safety or possible damage. Key feature for us. Would not have booked had we known.âą Large commercial-sized garage with signage located directly behind cabin, which balcony overlooks. âą Cabin lot overgrown, not as depicted in listingâą Some amenities not guest-ready (paddleboat needs cleaning; outdoor grill hadn't been cleaned; no kayak/canoe found.)âą Main living area is on second floor. Unusable first night due to summer heat. Very uncomfortable second night despite following cabin instructions to address this issue, so didnât use.âą Limited eating space inside; no dining table
We love this area and are very happy with our stay at this cabin. It was roomy with comfortable beds and the cabin was very clean. We fished in the pond, explored the property and it is the perfect location for Buena Vista and Salida. We love to explore the collegiate peaks and this cabin was a great jumping off point with beautiful views of the mountains.
This âcozy cabinâ was perfect for our family of four + grandparents. The cabin was beautiful and very clean, and the property was fabulous for exploring with plenty of privacy. The hot springs are a must to visit and just minutes away! We had plenty of room for us and our two kids upstairs and the grandparents in the bedroom downstairs. We had everything we needed to cook meals and plenty of towels in the two bathrooms to accommodate all of us. We are already planning a return visit!
We loved the property! It was clean, great kitchen, and fit our family of 5 with room to relax! We hiked Mt Antero and it was about 22 minutes to the 2WD trail head- very easy to get to!
Enjoyed the location along with stream fishing on the property
Overall it was excellent we just noticed the kitchen wasnât supplied like others that weâve stayed at in Colorado. One of the box fans didnât work. As far as location, privacy, view of the mountains and close to Buena Vista and San Isabel Mountains it was fantastic.
We are Buena Vista locals and consider ourselves lucky to be from such and incredible area. We are excited to shows our guests the a glimpse of the amazing nature that Chaffee County had to offer!
Rafting, hiking, biking, bird and wildlife watching, fishing, skiing, soaking in hot springs, art galleries, an incredible live music scene, and so much more. Chaffee county absolutely has something for everyone.
60 acres of private pond and private fishing stream make this a nature lovers dream. Central to everything one wants to experience in the county, one could use this as a launching pad for exploring the region, or just as easily settle in for a quiet vacation and never leave the property. Having traveled all over the world, we very much still consider this to be our âhappy placeâ.
