Great location, cool loft, unfortunately was cleaned with lavender products which we have an allergy too so that was an issue. The bathroom light and fan didn't work and the neighbor next door blasted music till 2am. We had another neighbor punch our car and scream at us while trying to load up where we were told to in the email from the owner.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, Carleigh. We’re glad you enjoyed the loft and its location. We genuinely care about our guests' comfort, so it’s disappointing to read this after checkout, as we received no messages or calls during your stay regarding these concerns. We are always available 24/7 to step in—whether that's swapping out cleaning products, addressing maintenance like a tripped bathroom breaker, or contacting building management regarding neighbor behavior. Had you reached out to us during your stay, we would have jumped on all of these right away.

Great Spot

We stayed here for a weekend in SLC and it was great. The location is excellent with easy access to restaurants. The apartment itself was great and perfect for our needs. It’s on a busy street but you can’t hear anything from inside the apartment. The owners were great and very easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Perfect spot for a weekend getaway!!!

The Rio Grande studio loft was the PERFECT place for us to stay while we visited downtown SLC. Easy walking distance to restaurants, entertainment, Temple Square and the Conference Center. The layout of the loft provided plenty of room for our family - and we loved the views from the roof! Next time we visit SLC, we will stay again! Thank you!

Birthday Weekend

I loved this stay for a birthday weekend with 2 friends! The location was perfect for downtown access with many options for bars, restaurants, and tourist attractions in 15 minute walk range. The loft is awesome and spacious, warm and private but open and welcoming. The neighborhood and building tenants are great and the roof access was amazing. I will definitely be back!!

Best Location!

This is a great place to stay - right across the street from the Convention Center. The space is great - only real complaint is the bathroom shower (as others have said too) I think changing out the head would be a simple fix. Also, a can opener in the kitchen would be nice too. Overall, a great place! Would definitely recommend!

Just needs a lot more explaining to make it an easier process! The apt itself is super clean and cute, great location. HOWEVER there were supposedly pictures that were missing to help explain the parking? It took me 30 min to initially figure out how to get into the property. Describes a lock box but doesn’t tell you it’s inside beside the door (supposed to be a picture but I didn’t initially find that) when there are other lock boxes by the outside garage door as part of the initial instructions? Once I got unloaded per first steps then I couldn’t figure out where the next parking garage was (supposed to be pictures but there aren’t as far as I could locate). Should just say “go to the axis garage” would make it MUCH easier. Upon check out you have to leave the garage card inside the apt but you don’t know that then you can’t get out of the parking garage! I had to back up call an attendant who couldn’t help me, then backed up and had to wait for the person behind me to leave so I could follow them out :( first day took 30 min for owner to respond to help with all my questions. Third day never got response when telling them I couldn’t get out of the parking garage. Overall not a terrible experience but was definitely frustrating multiple times AND all of that could be avoided with more explanations although then it probably seems difficult to access and more people might not want to stay? Again owner says “14 pictures” but only found 6 and that was of the door inside

Hi Melissa, thank you for commenting on the cleanliness, layout, and great location of the apartment. We send complete, step-by-step guides with over a dozen photos through Vrbo to every guest, and this is the first time anyone has encountered an issue accessing the unit to this degree. As soon as you let us know about not being able to find the pictures, we immediately stepped in to text you detailed aerial diagrams and step-by-step guidance so you could park smoothly. Our automated checkout instructions also detail how to exit the garage upon departure. We appreciate your feedback and are glad we were able to personally assist you throughout your stay.

Excellent host

We had a great stay in town for a yearly convention. Being right across the street from the Salt Palace is SOOO convenient! The host is VERY helpful replying to questions. When we were loading our car to leave, we locked ourselves out and the host was EXTREMELY quick to reply and help us back into the unit! What could have been a catastrophe in our travel timing worked out after all thanks to their super fast response.

Great location in the city but near a nightclub so you could hear the music. On the weekends people were outside until 2am making noise. Windows need blinds to darken the appt at night. Street lights lit up the appt all night. It was right across the street from the convention center.

SLC Stay

Location and neighborhood are great. Generally, I was happy with my overall stay. Kitchen is well equipped and great to cook in. There were a few things that would make this property so much better. Shower head was broken and just dangling (I fixed it myself otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to shower), toilet runs, hot water doesn’t last very long, there are very tall windows without currents or ability to block light or have privacy (street lights always shining into the apartment), and a coat hook by the door would be nice.

Our stay was okay overall. The best part of this rental is definitely the location—it’s close to everything, which was very convenient. That said, there were a few things that could be improved. The main living area wasn’t very comfortable, as the couch is extremely worn, and the windows didn’t have screens. The glassware also didn’t feel very clean. The beds were fine, but the lighting in the bedrooms was quite poor. The bathroom was the biggest issue—the shower soaks the entire floor, the fan doesn’t work so it gets very muggy, and the hot water runs out quickly (barely enough for one shower). While the location is great, it does come with noise from nearby bars and clubs, so keep that in mind.

Hi Tracy, thanks for highlighting our central location. We wish you had reached out to us during your stay regarding these maintenance items—our local team is available 24/7 and we would have immediately sent someone over to check the bathroom fan, water heater settings, and inspect the glassware. As a downtown loft steps from nightlife and dining, location is our top feature, though city sounds are part of the vibrant area.

Exactly What We Were Looking For

First, the good. This apartment is in a stellar location, walkable to all the great things downtown has to offer. The apartment itself has a few great amenities including a well stocked kitchen, very comfortable beds, and a comfortable couch (perfect for a girls night in!).All the concerns other reviews have brought up dont seem to have been addressed. There is a sharp metal corner upon entry/near the bathroom you could easily catch a shoulder on that could use a rubber bumper, there arent shades on the windows, there is a loud nightclub next door thats open until 1/2a, and the washer and dryer both don't work at this time.

Great Location, Close to Downtown Eats and Sights

First off, the good things. The location was great, convenient to places to eat, coffee shops, sights and general downtown activities. If you want an urban stay experience, this definitely fits the bill. The negatives. If you're sensitive to light, there are no curtains on the windows, and the sleeping area is in an open loft. It could be better appointed, the walls are mostly bare, and the whole unit and the building have an 1980's industrial, sort of run-down feel. The property management did make a very small price concession on this next issue, which helped. When we went to run laundry, we found out there was no laundry soap. After contacting the property manager for the unit, we were told this was because the washer didn't actually work. Which would have been nice to have known prior to assuming we could do laundry there. Overall a smooth stay, it's a little tricky getting in and out of the parking garage, but the directions were clear.

Stay for conference

I stayed with my mom for nearly a week. The first night my mom walked right into a low overhang/ corner of a wall outside the bathroom. It looks like she was not the only one either given the exposed metal at the wall edge. She had a bloody gash on her nose near her eye. Would recommend a pool noodle to cover the edge and prevent further injury. The bars close by were loud and the insulation for sound and temperature were minimal at best. The Chinese restaurant below is as good as it smells! Property owner was quick to help when we had a hard time finding the parking pass to the semi public parking deck behind the building (it was not on the counter with a orange lanyard but rather the keycard was hidden BY the counter sans lanyard.). He advised us to park overnight in the deck and we would be reimbursed. There are no reserved parking spaces and on weekends the bar crowd takes up the better spots. Beds were comfortable and warm. I would recommend a step stool or some sort of stair to get into the 2nd bed though if you are not flexible or are short statured. Overall it was okay but I would have been happier staying at one of the hotels next door for the same price.

Cute Downtown Spot

Overall great stay. It was a little hard to find but after that check in was smooth. The building is super cute and renovated really nicely. There was quite a lot going on during my stay due to it being Halloween weekend and a jazz game. But even then we didn’t hear any noise inside the apartment and there was quite a few people out on the floor below us. Would definitely stay here again really great location and host was responsive when I got a bit lost.
