Great place to stay . We always enjoy it . The lake view and the trampoline are a amazing plus . It is close to a dollar general also so if you forget anything it’s a hop skip n a jump away.

Stayed 3 nights in May 2026. Ms Shirley the owner/host and her husband Ronnie were helpful when requested. We had rain the entire weekend but still had a great time. They had use of a canoe, kayaks, and water trampoline as advertised. The lil white house was very cozy. We arrived an hour early. Fishing was good right from the dock and we watched our neighbors catching large mouth bass off their dock! Have no complaints and will return for another visit.

This cottage is the perfect size for 2 people and a dog. The location is convenient to quite a bit; grocery store, restaurants, hiking trails, etc. The view of the lake is amazing. The water trampoline was a hit with my son and our cottage neighbors. They also had kayaks and canoes for use. You will need to bring your own life jackets. I did find we needed to supplement some of the dinnerware. There is a Dollar General across the street so it made it really easy to get items you may need or may have forgotten. There was also a lack of kitchen towels, hand soap and facial tissues. There were towels I would use for cleaning but no hand towels or dish clothes/clean sponges. The bathroom also lacked hand towels. The king size bed was comfortable and clean.

Loved this location & Cute cottage

My husband and I spent a long weekend at this adorable little cottage. It was close to many local sites that we like to check out while we are up here and was easy to find right off the road. Everything was very cute and comfy for us and we would totally recommend to anyone that is interested in staying here.

The house was the perfect size for me, hubby and the pup - and the outdoor space was the perfect for our friends and family camping nearby to come visit for the day!

Get away

Our stay was mostly amazing as usual. Except for the other peoples kids who rented the place next door. They were rowdy and messed with our stuff. Other than that it’s an amazing house and spot to stay. We have stayed here multiple times .

Not a lot to do this time of year in the area. Hard to find in the dark. Our reception ran later than expected, so we arrived at night, our fault. Spider webs through out the house and could have been much cleaner.

The house was nice, location was great for us. Check in was difficult, lock code was wrong on email and it took awhile to get in touch with property owners to get correct code. No toilet paper in house either

BEWARE

The home is nice. When I booked the home and received confirmation I never got a door code and had to call for that as well as the directions do take you half mile past the house and the owner said she knew that. The cabin was 53 degrees when we arrived. No hot water in the showers! We did not stay but one night!

Had cob webs hanging in the bedroom, pulled the sheet back and found hair in the bed. Description stated it had cable, DVD player, etc. but there was none, TV in living room was a smart TV but you could only get old showings from what was being streamed, no cable to even connect your laptop, TV in bedroom had no remote and didn't seem to work. Sent a note to owner but no response. Parking is terrible and home is right near intersection and therefore very loud with cars racing down the road and house is very close to the road. bedroom is on that side so sound is terrible when you're trying to go to sleep.

Safety and communication concerns

House and location were great. Have safety concerns about ladder left leaning on house, no smoke alarm, few bugs in house, limbs were left in fire pit and unable to use, yellow jackets nest in tree trunk beside stabile leading to lake. Got to property late and the code to door did not work. Luckily the code was transposed and we figures it out. Emailed management about different issue before arriving and there was no response all weekend. There was no extra toilet paper and no bath soap. Water heater temperature needs adjusting too.

Not clean

Parking is a problem, one driveway for two cabins. Sits on a busy road with lots of traffic and road noise. When we arrived, no toilet paper, in bathroom, but there was a used bar of soap, a used towel hanging, toothpaste stains on counter with used cup and hair, and trash in the trash can. Bed sheets were dirty with hair and what looked to be bug wings and legs. Owner sent message back apologizing but sent no one to clean. Also, no hot water in bathroom. Owner was sent message and did not reply. Fire pit was full of yard debris and what looked to be painted pressure treated stairs that had been thrown away. Needs some good cleaning to get cobwebs removed throughout. Used VRBO many times, this is the first time I have to leave a bad review.

Beware the owner may be staying while you have it rented!

We rented this house for two nights and arrived at 6 PM on the first night. Someone had just left there. They left the TV on. They’re nasty shoes in the middle of the floor & a clothes bag in the middle of the oyer. We could tell they’ve been wollering all over the sofa. The bathroom was chaos They had plumbing and tools all over all over the sink. Their toiletries in the shower and toilet that they’ve been using and was not cleaned It was frightening entering a home like that and scared that somebody was hiding in there cause you could tell. They just left there with all that we mentioned and I asked the owner if they could change the code so we feel safe there, but they said they could not. We had to call him and tell him to come clean the mess. She was gonna just come and pick up the items. And too, she lied she said it was her grandson who stayed there the night before and he couldn’t stay that night. I thought I guess not but then when the gentleman came to get the stuff, he said it was his stuff and told he was the husband! So, you can imagine how we felt the whole weekend that was so wrong Miserable time !

Wish it had been better

The proper is nice but we ran into ALOT of issues. Once there we were told we were only allowed to use 1 dock, which has rotten boards, plants growing out of it and was a hazard for our children. It is listed online as well as in the cabin the the 3 properties share all 3 dock and common space and that anyone can use any dock. The owner made it VERY clear that since we were paying for the cheapet cabin that our money didn't pay for the same rights as the other 2 cabins. Even though the listing for the little white cabin says it has a slude off the dock, the shared docks, seesaw, swings, water trampoline. ALL SHARED AND COMMON SPACES ARE AVALIABLE TO ALL 3 CABINS AT ANY TIME. NO SPECIFIC DOCK BELONGS TO ANY SPECIC CABIN. The cabin itself was adorable. It did have alot if ants and was musty inside. It was lsited as having a stocker kitchen but we had to go to plastic silverwear, poates, cups and such. If we were going to make meals there it would have been impossible since there wasn't much to cook with. The lake itself is amazing. We will definitely be coming back, just not sure if it would be at the same rental. We also had other family that was staying elsewhere that visited during the day but did not stay and we were told that was not acceptable because the the cabin only slept 4, which is EXACTLY how many slept there.

It is not how many slept there. It is how many that were on the property which was a lot. She brought all her family members that were staying elsewhere and they decided to take over the dock in front of Big Nate. Each house has a dock of it's own. We explained this to her. You can't rent a house for 4 people and bring 15 people in to swim and play. The people in Big Nate next door complained. We had to consider that they paid $375 a night for a boat dock in front of them. The White house which is $150 a night had a boat dock in front of it but she didn't like it. It wasn't big enough for the crowd of people she brought in. We have recently put in a new dock for the Lil White House. I will be checking the dishes and pots and pans. Nobody else has made these complaints. When she complained about it smelling funny we quickly took a dehumidifier over for her use. We tried to make her happy. We also offered to give them their money back but they didn't take us up on the offer.

We enjoyed our stay it was peaceful and beautiful spot . The cute little cabin is like home . Having the lake and dock and trampoline to use is an amazing plus . It’s a must stay.
