New lake front cottage, nestled in a beautiful volunteer oak hammock, spread across 3.75 cool, shady acres. Ample space for an additional 12 camping guests.
We are right next to Florida's largest State Preserve, surrounded by pristine nature, wildlife, and some of the darkest sky’s in Florida. The mornings and the sunsets are enchanting. And the star gazing is phenomenal. The nearby state park is very popular with astronomy fans. It is also great for birders and is on the Florida birding trial.
Our listing is a destination. We are far removed from the grind of town and right next to Kissimmee Prairie State Preserve. We enjoy the same amazing sunsets, star gazing, sounds of nature, and quiet. In a word “PEACE”. The prairie is good for the soul. The entire 3.75 acres is fenced, and pets are welcomed up to 25lbs. The pond has a fountain that sends cascading water sounds that can help anyone sleep like a baby. We have ample space for extra guests for the day, or overnight camping, and we have outside services. (water &110 &30 amp power) Additional guests camping are $40/night for up to 4 people.
Golf carts are welcomed, but no atvs, or dirt bikes please. The neighbors are opposed to the noise.

We had a wonderful stay. The location was secluded and very private, which made it the perfect place to truly unplug and enjoy some peace and quiet. Everything was great, the location couldn't have been better. It was away from all the busy traffic and very quiet. The house itself was outstanding, everything was extremely clean and you had everything that you would need to have a relaxing stay. Outside was very well maintained and love the fountain. Next time we hope to stay longer.

What a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Star gazing was amazing! Love the fire pit area and bird watching from the balcony. We booked for two nights and regret not having a few extra days to chill and enjoy the property more. The host was extremely easy to book and communicate with.

Great place and very quiet

We had a blast with our friends. My wife and I stayed in our 40ft motorhome and we had nine adults staying in the house we brought a queen blow up bed and set it up where the table set and we had plenty of room and the horse shoe and corn hole games on site was a blast and all of our wives sing on the karaoke machine was unforgettable. We will be staying there again. Thank you so much for making us welcome

Wonderful Stargazing Family Trip

Had a great weekend of stargazing and relaxation! The property was super spacious, perfect for our dog. There's also a lot of extras like swings or sports equipment that helped us make the most of the yard. The interior was cozy, clean and well taken care of. Since the property is so close to Kissimmee Prairie State Park you have a real good look at the night sky. Highly Recommend staying out here if you can!

Awesome Place in Okeechobee

Craig was an excellent host! We had a little church guys retreat at the home and it was perfect for us to get away from normal life and be together. The home accommodated us well in addition to being able to setup tents as needed. We loved the land to play football in, the workout setup, campfire, grill, etc. It's a perfect little escape. Craig was super responsive and helpful with anything we needed or any questions we had. We definitely hope to come back again! Would highly recommend!

Amazing place to stay!

We planned this trip for our sons shotgun tournament in Okeechobee. This place was an awesome place to stay. The owners were very responsive with any questions we had. The house was fully furnished with kitchen appliances, towels, bedding, etc. There is a heart shaped pond out back and you can throw fish food and watch all the catfish swarm to the top of the water. The house is very spacious for a family of 4 and a family of 3 together. We truly enjoyed our stay and will be back next year for the same tournament. Thank you.

Would stay again

This property well exceeded our expectations the photos posted for the booking online don’t do it Justice this place is absolutely stunning. The inside was absolutely beautiful and had a decently stocked kitchen with supplies you might need bed rooms were comfortable and cozy amd spacious enough to fit my whole group inside comfortably when it rained. Outside was absolutely beautiful with the beautifully kept lawn and gorgeous oak trees and the pretty blue pond. All this beauty hidden away in the middle of nowhere, and that’s how I like it! 14 people all going to stay for a bachelor party is usually hard to entertain but there were plenty of out door activities todo to keep us all busy and having fun horse shoes, corn hole, frisbees, football, bonfire pit and a cool homage gym that works really well Communication with the host was a breeze, with fast responses and with respect towards the guest. Everything about this place was absolutely perfect for me and my group and I will be staying here again!!!

Lifetime nature lovers, this volunteer oak hammock has been our camping get-a-way for the past 18 years. The peace and quite here is like medicine. We just added the home to provide a little more creature comforts, and to share with others what we love so much about the prairie.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

Wide open space, beautiful nature, shady oak hammock, by a private heart shaped lake. Quiet as can be usually, but ATVs and target practice can be heard at times, airboats too. Our location is one of the darkest in the state of Florida, making for incredible night skies. The property has extra hook-ups for RV campers or tent campers.
There is an outdoor covered party area, as well as a smokeless fire pit.

Quiet, peaceful, private, 3.75 acres, fenced in for dogs, ability to overnight up to 20 people per night. Covered party area and smokeless fire pit. Gazebo with bed swing and lovely sunsets.
