Coastal Cottage on Private Island, overlooking the Essex Great Marsh
Minutes from Cranes Beach, Gloucester, Ipswich and downtown Essex, you will have your own cottage on a 14 acre, three-cottage compound. The architect designed cottages combines spectacular views with modern amenities. Enjoy a swim off the dock, or a drink at the fire pit. Guests can also book a trip with Captain Moore, who runs Lowe Island Fish Camp from the same property.
The cottage was very clean and newly renovated. The beds were comfortable. The appliances worked well. A clear glass patio looks out on a lush green salt marsh. The swallows chased each other in front of the cottage. We witnessed an amazing sunrise outside our back windows.
I had a wonderful stay on the Island. The cottage has amazing details, is clean and well-kept, and very comfortable. The location and views are truly incredible. Justin is a wonderful host-- welcoming, responsive, helpful, and an all-around good person, not at all intrusive to guests, but available if anything is needed. I would love to stay here again sometime.
Our family found this place is utterly tranquil, beautifully situated and comfortable. Salt-sea breezes, birds and marsh grasses, clouds and sun...we spent hours soaking it in on the porch.
Location is amazing; so close to Essex, Ipswich and Gloucester, but peacefully removed from the hustle.
Justin is completely welcoming and very easy to communicate with, both online and in person.
Thank you so much. We can't wait to stay again!
My husband and I stayed here last year and ever since, I've been looking forward to coming back and bringing my 3 kids. It is such a special spot - a cool, clean cottage with breathtaking views in quiet seclusion but also close to anything you need. The owner, Justin, who is an awesome host has continued making improvements and upgrades to the site including a great fire pit. We enjoyed swimming, paddle boarding and rowing off the dock in the morning and hit Crane Beach nearby to cool off on a couple hot days. Fun food and shopping in Gloucester is an easy drive. We rented the adjacent cottage for 2 nights so more family could be here together and that worked out perfectly. Hope to come back again, this place is magical!
Can't say enough about how great this rental is. Even with bad weather it is in a beautiful location, so quiet and peaceful. The house is clean and cozy, comfy bed and nice kitchen. It has a very cool architectural mix of an asian vibe and being on a boat, minimalist but has everything you need. The hosts were so friendly and helpful with us using our coastal row boats from their dock. The tide swings greatly so just know you can't always use the dock at low tide unless you want to walk in the mud but we still had plenty of time to use it. There is also so much to do nearby/within 30 minutes drive at most to lots of great attractions but many much closer. We will definitely be going back!
What an incredible location! Every moment of the day afforded different beautiful views of the marsh and river. We kayaked to a beach with Caribbean-like soft sand and turquoise water. Fabulous bird watching, magical sunsets & sunrises, and big, majestic oaks swaying in the breeze. Just paradise. And host Justin went truly above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and make our stay comfortable and checkout easy.
