Private Casa on Bonefish Beach - also a Motorboat and Sailboat for rent
A private place in paradise! A beloved family beach house to watch sunrises, star gaze, and kayak with the sea turtles. The shallow sound is a favorite destination for bone fishing, and the beach is child-friendly. The main floor has kitchen, dining, living area, queen bedroom, bathroom. Porch and patio have a sidewalk leading to the beach hut. Both downstairs bedrooms have private entrances and bathrooms.
Available to rent: 12' Carolina Skiff with motor - $500/week and 14â Fulcrum Rocket (for experienced sailors) $200/week.
We LOVED our stay. A week of almost private beach paradise. We kayaked to a cay. Spend the days in the beach gazebo. Starfish, sand dollars, and conch shells right on the beach! The house is well stoked with games and puzzles, as well as beach toys for the kids. The house is easy to get to. A short drive back to Marsh Harbor for food and dining, or try Pete's Pub or the Abaco Club near by.
It is an older home that could use some loving, but it has everything you need. A bigger coffee pot would be nice. You can't beat the location and the beach, which is the most important thing! We all loved the it. I would definitely recommend the house if you are more concerned about the location and beauty than the interior.
Case Retreat is a great place to stay if you're looking for peace and quiet, the beach, and some down time. It was very comfortable and had all the amenities you would need to have fun, stay connected, and be comfortable. Communication with the owner and car rental was easy, they were both quick to respond to questions and requests. I would definitely stay here again.
This house gives you a unique perspective on the Bahamas. It is in a quiet, residential neighborhood (except for the mating peacocks!). You have to drive 15-30 minutes to a restaurant or store. The house is old and funky but comfortable and clean. The beach in front is lovely. We didnât use the basement bedrooms at all but they are separate and private. There was a breeze so no a/c was needed. The kitchen was well stocked. John was very helpful and it was fun to use the motorboat to explore and check out Cherokee. It was too windy to use the kayaks but that would be fun. Thank you!
My mother and 2 sisters stayed for a week the layout of the house is perfect. The beach is one of the best on the island. we saw a total of 4 people on the beach the entire week. if you want to get away and not be around alot of people this is the place for you. not only was it so quiet and peaceful but we felt safe her as well
What can I say, absolutely beautiful location.
lovely beach and so private.
The cottage is charming family cottage.
Fresh linens and towels.
The lounge chairs with the gazebo were a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee.
The kayaks were great to explore the cove. We sighted some sting rays and a few very quick turtles.
Recommend a car.
And we enjoyed exploring the cove in the small dinghy we rented.
The property was everything we needed it to be. We had 8 adult's and it was tight but not too tight.
We spent most of our time at and around the creek fishing, watching and reading. Snorkeling and kayaking right off the porch.
Stopped at Maxwellsâs Grocery Store in Marsh Harbor and ate most meals in. A larger grill would really be nice. Cannot really use existing grill.
John, the property manager is a gem and is a wealth of knowledge and just plain interesting.
We had a great time and will be back.
Pros, the view after cleaning windows. 15 seconds to the beach, privacy, fully equipped with fishing rods, masks, liquor, condiments, linens and much more. Cons, garbage along entire beach, dilapidated structure needs cosmetics, no grill, living room tiles can be dangerous(just laying on floor with sand underneath). Picnic table seat too close to table. Electricity goes off now and then. People turn around at the end of the road its on randomly. But would still stay there again. Also, 1st story smells like moth balls bad!
The property is very well located just a few steps from the beach. We loved our stay and will definitely return one day! Thanks to John for the welcome and to Susan our host for sharing his property.
This property was just as pictured. Our own little slice of paradise. It is an older home, but well maintained. We basically had our own private beach and the kayaks that were provided allowed us to explore a little further out and into the marsh. We will definitely be back. Keep in mind this place is for someone who wants to completely unplug, nothing to do but go to the grocery store, a few restaurants and coffee shops, catch the ferry over to Hope Town to the lighthouse, relax on the beach with a good book or kayak. We did not meet anyone who wasnât super nice and friendly. Thanks so much for this much needed unplug for me and my family.
Jack and I live in Maine and visit Casa every March. Other family members visit Casa each winter, and we have vacancies available spring, summer and winter.
The house is one of the older ones on the beach, but lovingly maintained. The property next door was once a cultural park, now going 'back to nature' where wild peacocks roam. Casuarina Point offers some of the finest bone fishing. The beach is also child-friendly. There is a long sand bar that extends across the sound at low tide, for wading and finding sand dollars. The sea turtles are thriving, and the crystal waters are studded with star fish. At night, the stars are breathtaking. My favorite thing to do is walk the beach to watch the sunrise and find the gifts from the sea.
