Booked this place to be close to the lake, not knowing it was the towns annual 4th of July celebration. What a wonderful experience, the place, the town & the people! Thankful for all the above!
We were there for a wedding at the Blue Vista. It was a convenient location to attend. The place was clean, and perfect for our two dogs to stay while we were at the rehearsal on Friday night, and the wedding on Saturday.
It was as the owner said, not fancy but functional. It met our purpose to be close to wedding in Olsburg. Owner was helpful and quick to respond to questions. Would stay here again.
This home was very clean, well-organized, and welcoming. Our host even left us a loaf of homemade banana nut bread. Neighborhood was very quiet, and our host was easy to communicate with. We loved the big country kitchen and the large living room. Nice touches with clean towels (and some clearly labeled in case we were grimy), a flashlight in plain site and adequate internet and streaming television.
We were in town for a wedding at the Blue Vista in Randolph, KS. It happened to be Homecoming Weekend for K-State so very hard to find places to stay. We were thrilled to find this right next door to the Bed and Breakfast we had also booked rooms in. Lillie, the owner was very accommodating with our time frame and hospitable! The home itself is nothing fancy and could've probably used a good deep cleaning and some touch up painting to freshen it up. However, the bed was comfortable, we slept great, and the little living area and dining room provided space for other family members to come join us for a meal and sit and visit. It was also a very convenient 3 mile distance to the venue!
Owner, Lillie Sharp, is a retired teacher who lived and worked overseas for many years. You might see touches of her travels in the home. As her retirement hobby she runs The Attwood House Bed and Breakfast next door to this home. Dr. Attwood was the owner and the community's doctor for decades. Thus the name of the B&B and this property being called Doc's Hideaway.
