We rented this space for an annual peer group retreat for our business. We had 6 members attend and the home had plenty of room for everyone to have their own private space, as well as a large dining area for our group meetings. We hired a private chef to cook one of the evenings and he enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen. The waterfront location made a great back drop to the beautiful fall weather we had while we stayed there. We also appreciated the close proximity to Waterville where we were attending a few events. Overall it was a terrific stay! Thank you!
Great for large family gatherings. Bedrooms tucked in various corners for privacy and large kitchen and living areas for being together. Fire pit a great hang and the dock and canoes and kayaks, etc. provide fun for kids and adults. Owner very communicative and kind. Remote but still conveniently close to restaurants and stores.
Spacious and well equipped. Really two small families could easily have their own spaces. Stunning location. The lakeâs water quality is variable, but we were there in September. Host was very attentive and accommodating. Great place for our reunion.
Check in was poor. The owner/PM forgot to text the instructions and the info provided in VRBO is inaccurate and out of date. Had to wait around almost an our to get into the property.Kitchen: One of the best stocked VRBO kitchens I have ever stayed in. They had EVERYTHING! Except sharp knives, these were elusive. The beach was AWESOME! Great doc and swimming area, absolutely superb. The location was easy to get to, and Waterville has all the amenities nearby. It rained one afternoon and we took the kids to a movie. Great ice cream place in Oakland as well. The house itself was a bit of a let down. While the primary high use areas of the kitchen/bathroom were clean, the rest of the house was not. We had a power outage and had to reboot the TV/Wifi and it was covered in layers of dust. There is a great row of windows in the main room looking towards the lake, the windowsills, which are at perfect toddler height, were covered in the dust. Pictures reflect the outdoor porch which is in rough shape (put nicely) and the patio outside has a broken/defunct picnic table and old rug just left there. We stayed in the upstairs bedroom, where there is no possibility of closing the skylights, so you wake up when the sun comes up. The bed creaked with every move, but this was just that bed according to family who stayed in other rooms. What gets me is that this is obviously a very profitable rental property but they provide incredibly poor quality pillows and toilet paper.
Large family of 15 enjoyed the space both inside and outside the home. Lots of fun on the water for everyone, and the tree house was esp fun for the younger ones.
The kitchen/eating area was well equipped.
Owner was quick to respond, and shared nearby hiking areas.
Enjoyed our time here.
We loved staying at the lake at Rena's Place. The house is enormous-with two well-equipped kitchens, lots of bedrooms and a great fire-pit overlooking the lake. Even in September, the water was warm enough to swim! Thank you!
We had our family of 12 here for a week of fun in the water. We brought our own boats and floats and this rental supplied us with numerous kayaks, canoes, paddleboards plus a 15' high inflatable slide that was the star of the show, especially for the under 60 folks.
Renaâs Place has something for all your family members. The pond, water park, and water toys were so much fun. Plenty of room in the house for everyone to spread out. Highly recommended!
The entire large family we brought had an amazing time. Beautiful property and great easy communication with the owner. Completely ready to stay, home feeling, quiet area was absolutely stunning. Nice beach for kids, with a gorgeous yard. It was great stay!!!
Outstanding communication with host Dave. The unlimited supply of firewood, paper products, kitchen supplies, towels, linens, etc was awesome. Loved the large deck on the water, the numerous water toys and easy sandy entry to the crystal clear water. Great space with 2 great kitchens, 3 frigs and 6 bedrooms. We have been traveling every year for the past 30 years and we have now found a beautiful home that checks all the boxes.
Our first trip to McGrath Pond. Beautiful spot on this lake great for swimming and kayaking etc. The inflatable water park combined with the dock was the absolute highlight! Kids played endlessly on the slide, trampoline and water craft.
Great stay for our family reunion!
Our group of 19 women (10 at this property, 9 at another) needed to stay near Colby College where we were competing in an athletic event. This was perfect! Location=gorgeous, on the water, short driving distance to Colby and necessary shopping. Amenities=everything we needed and more! We fixed and served dinners for all 19-there was plenty of room to eat, gather and make our trip a great bonding experience. Only 5-star ratings are available, but would give it a 10 if possible - highly recommended!
Absolutely loved the area, the serenity of the pond, the set-up and layout of the house. We are a group of quilting friends and there was plenty of room with great lighting to sew, cook and relax. Excellent communication with the owner whose response to questions was immediate.
The house was beautifully situated in a cove. The water was easy to access and the dock gave a fantastic view! The house was perfect for what we wanted: many beds for sleeping, an open kitchen, dining area, living room with a view, lots of outdoor seating and a yard for games! It had everything we needed for cooking and preparing our food. It was also very easy to get to yet private and cozy. We really bonded as a team, had some great fires and conversation around the fire pit and even managed to get a little bit of work done together on our laptops!!
We had a wonderful time at this âcampâ! I would hardly refer to this as a camp but noticed all of my Maine family called it that! The house is perfect for a large group with all the amenities, while still being spacious enough that no one would feel cramped. It was the perfect place to unwind and hang out with family. We really enjoyed evenings outside by the fire pit. Iâd highly recommend a stay here.
I can not recommend this property enough! The house is beautiful, and has everything you could ever need. The amenities were endless! My children loved playing on the Swingset and exploring the tree house. The beach area was perfect for swimming. My toddler was able to splash around in the shallow area next to the dock. The owners checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed and were quick to reply with any questions. You will not regret spending time at Tilton Point!!
Dave was the best. He checked to make sure we had everything and weâre enjoying our stay. When I texted him he was right back to me. He went over and above when he located an item left behind and sent it to us!
We are looking forward to working with Dave again in the future! His house was beautiful and accommodated all16 of us without a problem.
The amenities were endless, we played hard and enjoyed relaxing around the fire pit in the evenings.
His home was our dream vacation and then some.
Thank you Dave , we could not have asked for more.
The property itself was very nice, set up and space were great for our group. The dock and float were a big hit and having the watercrafts available was a bonus.
We did have a few minor glitches along the way but all were addressed by the owner pretty quickly and to our satisfaction. Over all a great place for a vacation, family gathering/reunion.
Thank you David for sharing this lovely lake house
We planned this vacation for our troop of 8 adults and 6 kids, ages 3-10, for a year. We scoured the websites for just the right property to meet our family's preferences. We found the perfect location and accommodation at Rena's place on McGrath Pond. The zero entry sandy beach, the lily pad, float and water toys were the kids playground. The accommodations on the dock made for a relaxing oversight of the kids as they made some amazing "Cousin Crew" memories. We caught fish and hosted a couple turtles. The fire pit, fireflies and loon songs at dusk brought us all together for the perfect end of each amazing day. Our lobster and clam bake was well appointed with all necessary means to cook for several lobster first timers. The hosts were attentive and accommodating prior, during and after our stay. It was important to me to make this trip for our kids and their families relaxing and memorable. Dave and Dan provided that opportunity in their well-appointed, spacious and comfortable home. We will be back to this vacation gem! Thank you both.
Great Accommodation and Quiet Location for Large Families
Beautiful, large house that was able to accommodate our family of 10 adults and 3 grandchildren. The separate basement living area with kitchen and 3 bedrooms was ideal for my daughter, son in-law and their small kids. Easy in and out for them when family was at the water.
Spacious kitchen accommodated all of us comfortably, and the outside dining table was great when we had lobster and didn't want a mess inside. Lovely garden and yard in the front with space for badminton. The kids loved the swing, too!
Lots of games available for indoor and outdoor enjoyment. The grandkids especially loved the extra large Connect Four set.
We enjoyed swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and sunning on the floating dock - the water is so clear and clean! The water near the shore is not too deep with a sandy bottom, making it ideal for the grandkids to play safely in the water. We also enjoyed fishing and caught chain pickerel, small mouth bass, crappie, perch and blue gill.
The owner and property manager were very attentive to our needs as they arose, including dealing with over-flowing trash and recycle cans that were present in the garage on our arrival and keeping us abreast of when to expect power to come back on after it went out one evening due to a car accident in the area.
Overall we had a very pleasant stay and will consider returning .
Our family has owned this property for over 45 years which started out as just a rustic cottage where we spent our summers, to the home built on the 19 Acre property in 1992. Our families vacation in Oakland every year and enjoy the small town atmosphere and private less developed McGrath Pond.
