Lakeside Hideaway - Beautiful country setting just minutes from town
This beautiful property is one of the most unique you'll ever stay in - as the original construction of the house featured no right angles. Complete with four bedrooms, two and a half baths, each room features a historical theme including many local organizations and events. Less than 40 yards from the banks of the local lake, this home is hidden away in a wooded area, but just minutes from town and all of its amenities. Visit local landmarks and enjoy local activities - the National State Historic Site Old Mulkey Meetinghouse in just across the roadway and the last free-floating, free, state-owned ferry is just a short drive away. Come stay with us and enjoy a peaceful retreat !
We had a great time and there was plenty of room for all of us. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there so we couldn't enjoy the outdoor activities, but this would be great for fishing and hanging out outside. The location was convenient to everything and still felt secluded.
We enjoy our stay and the history of the family and town. It was very relaxing. Our property owner was very helpful with local places to eat and shop which helped us to get the most out of our birthday vacation. Ronda is the best thank you again
The house was clean and everything was clean. The weather was terrible and the power went out. They brought us candles and flashlight and made sure we was ok. Definitely recommend if your needing to stay in the area.
There once was a lakehouse in Kentucky,
Where the roof was kind of sucky,
Then rain poured through and all we could do,
Was to feel all kinds of unlucky.
Also there a lot of fruit flies, please fix that issue.
A very unique house that we would definitely enjoy stating at again.
The owner was very easy to work with and communicated with us very well.
The house has a very unique design. I don't believe there is a single 90 degree angle in the entire house. The rooms are decorated to honor the memory and local importance of the house's former owner. It is a very unique property and big conversation starter.
The house was well appointed and clean. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The house was plenty large enough for more people than we had. We enjoyed walking to the lake to fish. We loved being able to put our kayaks in the water.
Group of buddies on motorcycles stayed here for a long weekend of riding in Southern Kentucky and Tennessee.
Perfect location for these activities. Was also quiet and secluded.
Would stay again.
Our family of 7 adults had a very nice stay. We LOVED the location and Ronda is a fantastic host! We felt the property could use an inventory overhaul and more organized location of kitchen items. We were very grateful for Ronda and her understanding of our needs.
The Hideway was established in the home of Blanche Bushong Trimble, a community activist and a truly amazing lady. Originally from Monroe County, she lived an exciting, adventure-filled life and her travels and love of her community is illustrated throughout the Hideaway with history-filled theme rooms from many of her endeavors.
We promise - you will never stay in a home anywhere as unique as this one. The basic construction is one of the most unique builds as there are no right angles in the structure!
