A step back in time to the good old days of methodist assembly and camp meetings. This place has been there. Well-used and well-loved over the years, dating back decades. If you are looking for perfectly updated and sparkling clean, keep looking. But when the people you are sharing it with are more important than the place, this is for you. The pre-stained carpet, worn woodwork, iron and brass hardware, minimal kitchen, and temperamental plumbing all add to its relaxed comfort and charm. Next time we have a bunch of family in the area, we hope to get it again.

Spacious older house

We liked all the space for our family and friends to be there with us and to each have their own bedroom and bathroom. The location was great and there was plenty of parking. Just know it is an older house which can be a whole lot of uncertainties.

Big house, but very old

The house was huge and well suited for accommodating our extended family of 9 adults and 5 kids. There were plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, a good size kitchen with two refrigerators, a large dining room with two large round tables, and a big living room. The kids loved playing in the large grassy backyard. It was close walking distance to all of the resort amenities. The linens were clean and plentiful. That said, the house is very old and in need of renovation. Much of the flooring needs to be replaced. There were multiple ceiling leaks. The plumbing system is old and inadequate to a house that size. The wi-fi was down the whole week, despite multiple calls for help and attempts to reboot the routers.

Philip, thank you for sharing your experience, we're pleased our home was a good fit for your family! We're sorry for any areas you felt needed some TLC. Our local manager assured us that the homeowner will be replacing the carpet. The WiFi is working, however, when there are a large number of people using it, it can have slowdowns. We enjoyed having you as our guest and hope to host you again.

Brookside Lodge Disappointment

The location near the Adventist Bookstore during camp meeting and large backyard with picnic tables were nice. The living room furniture was attractive and comfortable. Some of the beds were comfortable, while others not as much. Overall, the house needs serious maintenance and remodeling to make it acceptable as a rental. There was no hot water the first day. Maintenance found the propane tank empty, and it could not be filled until later in the day due to a holiday. After this we finally had hot water, but the water temperature on occasion would suddenly fluctuate between scalding hot and freezing cold. There were ants in the kitchen; maintenance brought ant traps. An upstairs shower leaked into the hallway below. Several sinks didn't drain well. There were only 3 spoons for use in the kitchen, and even though it was reported more than once, we never received extra spoons. Management did refund is for two nights for loss of amenities, which we greatly appreciated. But the house should never be rented again until it is upgraded in several important ways: plumbing, bedding, kitchen and bathroom remodeling. Some shower/baths were so tiny for a normal-sized adult to adequately use. It could be a wonderful house for a large group with these major upgrades. Until then, the organization should take it off the rental list.

Our apologies for the hot water issues and the team's oversight to the gas tank as well as dropping the ball in bringing the needed kitchen items. Deceiving property

Positives: Clean towels and linens and no pests. Negative: the property was built in 1900"s, the property is OLD and not well kept. Livingroom, the couches are peeling off, TV is a 14". Bedrooms, the majority of the sink are outside the bathrooms and in the bedroom area, the carpet is old, the plumbing rumbles and you can see some bathroom shower plumbing. Kitchen: the pots and the utensils are very low quality and the kitchen feel dirty since cabinets are very old and look dirty and the kitchen mat is gross, the floors are old an uneven Dining room: it's just a table with a bunch of folding chairs, the ceiling is about to fall off because of water intrusion, floors are old an uneven Grill is need but small nd floor: carpet is very old, the handrails are below waist line and the hallway is very narrow and is unsafe for kids or for an adult that can trip and fall off the rails since they are extremely low Some of the outlets are outside the wall Under the amenities they have washer and dryer listed and is not true Overall: the house is very old, smells old, not well kept inside or outside, water stains everywhere. Has potential if they ever remodel the property. We totally fell catfish by the property We totally fell catfish by the property and we wish we can have our money back.
