A spectacular off-grid masterpiece, the 'Isabelle' located on historic gold mining acreage. It is inspired by the 19th century gold miner shacks and hoist houses built across Colorado's gold belt. This home represents the latest in the modern off-grid lifestyle. Stunning vaulted styling with large glass windows open to expansive decks overlooking the mountains and opening to Continental Divide views. 2 bedrooms plus a loft providing accommodation up 6 people. The primary loft in the main cabin accommodates a king size bed with Million dollar views. Private guest loft accommodate 2 queen size bed with impressive mountain views. Being at the Isabelle will leave you impressed with the sounds of silence and the amount of stars that can fill the night sky. NO AIR CONDITIONING- this house is built at 9,450' and the temperature is average mostly in the mid 70F during the day. Easy access with 2WD most of the year. But a 4-Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive vehicle or one with snow tires is helpful to get to this home in the winter when snow is presence. 10min to Blackhawk (best casinos and buffets in Colorado), 15m to Idaho Spring ( Hot springs, grocery, restaurants) 30 min to Golden ( Red Rock Amphitheater, Coors Brewery Tour) and 45 to Denver and 1hr to Denver International Airport. Short drive to the I-70 corridor & world class skiing. Abundant Wildlife. Excellent cell service.
We had a wonderful vacation. Few things for future renters. There is no washer and dryer. Bring adequate clothing as you cannot wash clothes. There is not ice maker so if your wanting ice you will need to buy some. The property is beautiful and the view is amazing.
4x4 vehicle required and mentioned a lot for a reason. Beautiful cabin in the mountains. Minutes away from Idaho springs co, Blackhawk casinos, and just a Beautiful drive to the slopes of winterpark. The stairs to the loft bedrooms are really steep and felt could be dangerous for children or people like me who midnight snack half asleep.
Photos of the view from the cabin do not capture the true beauty of the in-person view! The location of this place is perfect! Very private and quiet. We saw eagles circling the sky, moose in the pastures, and deer in the backyard. We aren't avid outdoors people (the wifi worked great, the place was heated, the water was treated and hot, and we cooked our own meals, so we had no reason to venture out), but the views of the snowcapped mountains tempted us so we made our way over to St Mary's Glacier. We were ill prepared for the hike and didn't make it far, but the view was breathtaking! The entire stay was excellent; off grid living with modern amenities. Travel tip: the last 1.6 miles of road up to the cabin is unpaved and the driveway is very steep and rocky. There was no snow or rain during our stay but we felt much better knowing we chose a 4x4 vehicle for the drive.
My wife went here on our Honeymoon and it was great. We were definitely snowed in the first three days, which we didn't expect in May, but the cabin was roomy enough for the two of us. The location is beautiful and the cabin itself is laid out pretty well. What you see is what you get for the most part. The cabin looks secluded but is fairly close to the main road. There was no washer/dryer as the host removed the unit, which we didn't expect. The couch was partially broken and the TV remote didn't want to work very consistently. Not a complaint, but it's worth noting that this place could comfortably sleep 7 of people share a bed, but there isn't a lot of indoor seating at all. The cabinet space was also fairly limited, so if you had a big group, it may be a struggle to store very much food easily. Great cabin overall though, I'd still rent again just for my wife and I.
Loved the views and the size was perfect for us as a couple without even having to go into the other unit. The host was easy to reach and responsive to any questions. Great jumping off point for Golden Gate Canyon State Park, Red Rocks, Golden, or Brainard Recreation Area where we saw moose. Also a great spot for night sky viewing. Kitchen had everything we needed but stop at a grocery store for supplies on your way as the house isnât walking distance to food, but being in the quiet and amongst nature was the goal of the trip.
The views from the house are perfect! I wouldn't recommend bringing children because the setup of the house is tricky to navigate (steps ladder-like stairs). You definitely need a 4WD/AWD vehicle year-round to navigate the areas around the property if you plan to explore.
The cabin is rurally located in the mountains above Idaho Springs and Central City. We had easy access to both towns, attended a concert at Red Rocks and made day trips to Golden Gate State Park, Nederland, Boulder, Golden and Estes Park. If you donât want to travel, the property itself is fun to explore with old mine sites both up the mountain and down the road. If youâre looking for remote, quiet and beautiful views, this is a great location.A few things to note. The cabin doesnât have a washer/dryer, dishwasher, tea kettle or hairdryer. Also, there are no mixing bowls, storage containers, or large drinking glasses. If there are more than two people staying, Iâd also recommend bringing plates, silverware and extra dish towels (only one provided). If youâre a person who uses a washcloth, youâll want to bring your own, as none are provided. The king bed is in a loft thatâs accessible by ladder like steps. If you have balance or mobility concerns, or are a person who gets up frequently at night, this might not be the best place for you. My husband and I found the king bed collapsed on one side and lumpy. We moved to the queen bed on the ground floor. Also, there are no extra blankets, so if you run cold, Iâd bring an extra blanket. There is a loveseat in the living room and no other seating in the space other than the two chairs at the dining table. The loveseat was broken with an exposed bolt and the arm detaching. Loved the location, but needs some TLC.
Great location with a short drive to Idaho Springs/Central City
Amazing breathtaking Mountain Viewâs located on a beautiful property
Everything you need to enjoy your stay at the property
High clearance vehicles recommended for the area
