There is plenty of fun in beautiful Fairfield Bay, and our home is in close proximity to all activities
Very beautiful property and plenty of room and amenities. Beautiful backyard with view of the lake and fire pit to gather around. Downstairs and game room very nice to hang out. Owners very responsive and flexible.
The home was beautifully decorated with fresh looking remodeling. Itâs definitely a home away from home feel which worked out since our plans were a little derailed. We had fun outings but the best part was playing games at the house. The young men of the family had a blast in their own separate space. The marina was a fun place and my nephew loved feeding the fish and turtles. My mom who uses a cane got around well into the house and patio (just a couple steps). We loved having the big dining table!!! A rare find in vacation spaces. Lake was just a hop skip and jump away. While the lake view was blocked by trees, the beautiful green canopy gave a treehouse feel from the picture window, and trees were in bloom around the patio. It was very hot during our stay so we never used the fire pit, but such a cool area. The host is great to work with!!! We would return if given the chance.
Great for families with teens, not as good for young kids
We really enjoyed our time here! We booked this property for two families who each have young children, and chose it specifically because it had two separate living spaces. I wish I had looked at the photos more closely before booking, because the downstairs unit is really set up like a teens/kids zone and not as a full separate unit. The downstairs kitchen is more like a kitchenette, with fridge/microwave/sink and coffee maker, but no stove or dishwasher. This was fine for us because we ate meals upstairs with the other family, but could be problematic if people are looking for two full units. The downstairs apartment had just 3 towels despite having beds for 4 people, no bath mats, and it no closets so we couldnât hang any clothes (there is a nook that looks like it used to be a closet in one room but no rod).
None of the bedrooms have dressers either, which I didnât notice in the listing photo- we just kept everything in our suitcases, which worked out fine, but it was definitely a little odd.
Unit is pretty clean overall, just dusty in some places.
Overall it was a great trip. Location is close to the marina which is fabulous, and our kids loved all the games that were available in the unit. I think this would be a great location for families with teens, so adults could stay upstairs and teens stay downstairs.
Several friends and family members were here for a wedding nearby. The place was clean and in a quiet neighborhood. The separation of the upstairs and downstairs offered more privacy. We really enjoyed the outdoor space. All and all it was a great experience. I would recommend and stay at this property again.
Welcome to our home! I teach elementary school through the week, and my husband is a home inspector. We fell in love with Fairfield Bay while visiting early in our relationship. We've made so many memories here with our kids. They're grown now, so we decided to remodel the home to share it with othersl.
This home truly is the most serene place I've ever been. Complete silence: no sounds of vehicles or any city noise. We could sit for hours relaxing on the back deck and watching the deer walk up to the property, or around the fire pit making s'mores. The entire town has so much to offer for entertainment, but the home feels like I'm miles from anywhere.
The two separate living quarters/ two kitchens definitely makes this home unique, along with its close proximity to the marina. You can drive there in 1-2 minutes. The huge balcony, patio, and firepit also set it off from the other homes in the area. Pets are welcome, and there is office space with very fast wi-fi.
