My husband and I enjoyed this cute little unit as a getaway during our visit to Emporium. The farm is very scenic and is located right along the West Creek Rail Trail - which I highly recommend for biking or jogging! The farm animals were very amusing to watch. We were here in July, and as the listing mentions, there was no AC. Thankfully it was overcast, but it was still pretty warm for us. Other should keep that in mind when visiting.Robin was very communicative and accommodating, working with her was super easy. We would stay here again!
This was the perfect little place for my husband and I to have a quick little getaway. We had so much fun seeing all the alpacas and other little animals. Perfect location between St. Maryâs and Emporium making it easy for us to travel back and forth between attractions.
The property was exactly what I needed for my stay in St. Maryâs. I enjoyed seeing the animals and the host were amazing. I did have an AT&T hotspot and was able to connect to the outside world. I would deffinetly stay there again.
Husband and I had a wonderful stay at this cute little red barn/ alpaca farm!!!
Robin was a wonderful host who actually taught us a few things about the animals and farming. We are grateful to have had this wonderful experience!! Will come back again !!!
Peace, quiet, and farm friends abound! Loki the feline ambassador greeted me upon arrival and showed me to the door (really, it was impressive!) of a clean, modern, and comfortable apartment. Well appointed space with plenty of room and activities for families. Would definitely stay again!
Alpacas, Goats, Cats, Ducks and a Rooster- Perfect Farm Getaway!
We stayed here instead of Benezettte to see the animals! Anything youâd need is there. We didnât have any issue with the slight smell and honestly I hate all smells and only noticed it the first time we walked in! The STARS!! Amazing! The rooster woke us up but what do you expect on a farm haha! Robyn is very kind, friendly and helpful!
Quiet mountain out of the way area. Watching & interacting w the animals was a relaxing +++. Orange cat made us feel like home he's a keeper... Property owner was very nice and got my hubby to milk a goat which I never thought he would do. would go back in a heartbeat.. TYTYTY
We enjoyed the location and all of the animals. The accommodations were the perfect size for us. The full size appliances were a nice surprise. Our favorite part was sitting on the second story deck and watching the animals. Although we did not need anything, it was reassuring to know that the owners were right there. .
My favorite part of coming to pa yearly is put phones down because you have no service anyway and enjoy the beautiful land! The property with goats alpaca and friendly cats!
Everything great. We arrived in the dark and fumbled with the lack of lighting. We are older and not as nimble as we once were :)
A light on by the side door would have been terrific.
Loved flipping on light and seeing the kiddos!
Thanks!
Nice little off the grid get away.
It is a working alpaca farm so be aware of that. Robin is very accommodating and super friendly, Mike is too.
No internet, no TV, so if that's what your looking for this is the place. Pretty centrally located between St.Marys and Emporium
We loved being off grid, just wish we hadnât ended up having 90 degree weather that week! Still, we were able to talk, read from actual books, and give our eyes a break from screens. The alpacaâs and goats, cats and ducks, all were delightful sights to see and hear which added to our relaxation! Weâd love to come back!!
We were a bit bummed nothing stayed in the barn and there were no animals to see while we were there. And it was a bit shockinf to find the bathroom door doesnt cover the doorwayđ But the property is lovely! The location is great! Everything was clean, working and obviously cared for! And the bed was so comfortable. Great place to unplug! Wed be happy to stay again when theres more time to enjoy it all!
This place was what we needed. The stars at night and the farm animals by day were very inviting. For those who wonder about privacy, there was no need to ask the hosts on the property for anything. If it weren't for me seeing him feed the chickens and ducks, I don't think I would have known they were there. We were also greeted by Loki, an affectionate cat that allowed us to take him in. We played games together and enjoyed the atmosphere.
My husband Mike and I bought the Filling property in 2007 to fulfill my dream of owning a farm with alpacas. I enjoy creating - whether it is knitting, crocheting, tatting, and now weaving.... having fiber animals seemed a natural extension. I have followed a circuitous career path, registered nurse, family & consumer science (home economics) teacher and certified financial planner. Mike is retired and I am the certified school nurse with the Cameron County School District as well as owner of Kuleck Financial Planning.
Over the years we created an oasis that we are now able to share with others by providing an apartment rental without internet and limited cell service. Visitors to the Pennsylvania Wilds will experience country life in Cameron County where the state owns about 80% of the land in state game lands, state parks and state forests.
The farm is bordered by the Rails to Trails connecting Emporium to St. Marys. The West Creek Branch of the Susquehanna river runs through the property. We have a stocked fish pond for catch and release of small and large mouth bass. Flower and vegetable garden, apple orchard and about 16 acres of fenced pastures for the alpacas and dairy goats to graze on. Visitors often take in the Cherry Springs Dark Skies, Kinzua Railroad Bridge, Allegany National Forest and the Elk Visitor Center in Benezette PA.
