When visiting the mountains in the Asheville NC area, you may not be able to stay at the Biltmore, but you can rent this renovated seven-bedroom/six-bathroom mansion built by the Biltmore's supervising resident and completing architect, Richard Sharp Smith. A short walk from charming, walkable Marshall, NC on the French Broad River with its cafes, restaurants, shops and brewery, and only 25-minutes from downtown Asheville, the Marshall House Inn is on the National Register of Historic Places. Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, you will be a short drive from the music of Asheville, the Appalachian Trail and the Great Smokies.
The Inn is also available to host weddings and other events while your group is staying with us, please send us an inquiry for additional details!
The space
20 guests can stay on property comfortably (based on two guests per bed as there are 6 King beds, 2 queen beds and two queen size pullout sofas though I have listed up to 24 guests as we are open to additional guests (there is some room for you to bring blow up mattresses), particularly if they are children.
With a living room on the ground floor and the second floor, dining tables to accommodate 16 guests (a main dining room table for eight which is open to another two tables, each seating four, in the adjacent living spaces), a game room, fire pit, and 7 bedrooms/6 bathrooms, there are enough spaces for your large group to both come together and spread out as desired.
The Marshall House Inn is conveniently located between Asheville and Hot Springs in the middle of the Blue Ridge mountains. Whether you want to take in the breweries, galleries or shops of Asheville, visit the Biltmore House, spend time outdoors or just relax, you’ll not find a better location from which to start. With over 55,000 acres of National forest you’ll find lots of opportunities for whitewater rafting, hiking, fishing, biking and zip lining. Or just a short walk down Hill Street you'll find cafes, restaurants breweries and shops to entertain.
If you would like to hang out around the house, there's plenty to do between the many books to read on the long covered patio overlooking downtown Marshall and the French Broad River, enjoying the 65" Samsung smart TV, chess, games and a poker setup in the cozy second floor living room, cooking on the six-burner gas stove or on the outdoor Weber gas grill, roasting s'mores by the fire pit or playing a game of ping pong, skee-ball or giant jenga (there's a TV in the game room as well). We hope to host you and your group soon!

There is one large parking spot at the front of the building and six or so cars can park comfortably in the parking lot in the back though I have seen several more than that fit with very careful, valet-style parking. There’s also free parking in downtown Marshall (2 hour time limit between 8am-6pm, no time limit after 6pm and on weekends).
If you have over 16 guests the pullout sofas are included in the additional guest fee (one sofa included for 17-18 guests, 2 sofas for 19-20) though please still request the sofas in your inquiry so a note can be made for the housekeeping team. If you have fewer than 16 guests and need the pullout sofas there will be an additional $50 fee (plus tax) per pullout sofa to account for the housekeeping team's bed setup and additional loads of laundry. Thanks and please let me know of any questions!
