This was a trip for work and I couldnt have asked for a better stay! Very clean home with a very attentive host. Check in and out was super easy and everything you need for a comfortable stay is right there.
Mark, the host, is great. The communication, the breakfast, the house. Itâs perfect for our needs. This was our second time in as many years and will be booking for next year soon.
Mark is an amazing host. Excellent communication. Breakfast items left specifically for us in the fridge were a most appreciated gift. Kitchen had everything we needed. Those considering the property should know that the two bedrooms and the bathroom are upstairs. Beds were comfortable and both rooms had ample space. Instructions for tv use and streaming services were clear and easy to find. Neighborhood is a bit rundown but we did not feel at all unsafe.
The cottage was very cute and cozy. Kitchen had plenty of cookware, utensils etc. It was clean, beds were VERY comfortable!!! Mark was very helpful and pleasant to communicate with. I highly recommend staying here and will definitely be booking next time Im up there.
This was a great place to enjoy with a family or 2-3 couples!!
Yard is great for summer party's for birthdays, and anniversaries.
Host is incredible and very helpful!!
Loved our stay! Older home but sweet '60-'70 vibe. Cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The wrap around patio could be a great place to hangout. It was just too hot while we were there. Such a sweet touch to have breakfast foods to prepare in the fridge.
We had a great experience with Mark and loved staying at the Haworth Cottage! It was the perfect location for catching up with our Millikin student and enjoying downtown Decatur. Communication and accessibility were excellent and our stay was much better than a hotel. We are eager to visit again!
This place exceeded our expectations. Mark, the host, was very prompt and good with communications. He also provided us with some breakfast basics - nice touch! The property is clean, neat, and exactly as described. Would absolutely rent again.
Cute little house with nostalgic charm. We traveled over Thanksgiving to visit our daughter. We had a small thanksgiving dinner with her. The kitchen was well stocked with breakfast items for us which save a trip to the grocery store! The bed was comfy and we had lots of room. Wasnât sure about the neighborhood, but we felt safe inside and it was too cold to be outside anyway.
Great location. Central to most everything. It would have been nice to have known about the stairs. Cute little cottage with all the essentials. We enjoyed our stay.
Overall, Haworth Cottage is wonderful...the house has lots of cozy charm & we loved all the eclectic decor, very fun! It probably should be mentioned the bedrooms & bath are upstairs, in case someone has knee issues. And not sure it's completely safe to walk the area at night, but daytime seems okay. Very close to Millikin and would be a delight for anyone visiting the University.
The house and grounds were adorable and well taken care of. We appreciated the breakfast supplies. I was a little worried not hearing from the host until the night before on check in and out procedures, but that may be standard. Overall it was a great experience.
Rooms far more spacious than what the photos looked to be. Plenty of chilly AC, AND ceiling fans. Mattresses the most comfortable I've ever slept in !Breakfast waiting in the fridge? Unheard of !!Relatively quiet neighborhood with the rare exception of neighbor's daytime dog. Liked the private parking driveway and the walk to Lock Stock and Barrel was only 2 blks away.No grocery nearby, but we weren't around enough to cook anything. (Fully stocked kitchen tho and washer and dryer in basement.) The ONLY hitch....A beautiful media entertainment center with big screen TV that was totally unwilling to cooperate for broadcast viewing. Wanted to see Monday Night football and no amount of troubleshooting by 2 people produced zero results. : (Highly doubt I'll be returning to Decatur the town I grew up in, but I cannot recommend highly enough this hidden cottage just off Eldorado Ave. A wholly enjoyable road trip overall.
