Unique modern apartment in an Old Mill in Shelley Idaho
All season base for enjoying the beauty of Idaho. Built in the 1890s as a grain mill now serves as a modern apartment that sleeps 8 and has a kitchen sitting area and living room for relaxing after a day of exploring
It was good for my family. The only complaint was the air conditioner. It only came on once at night and with no windows to open in a couple of the rooms to get air movement. Maybe put a couple of fans and make it where the air can be controlled in the place. Other than that we were extremely happy with the place. Very clean and comfortable. Thank you!!
I was unable to stay here because the property managers never sent check in information. There was another review with a similar issue so I attempted to get in touch with the property managers for over a week prior to check in - but no response. Support tried contacting them many times as well. I had to scramble to find a new place to stay from the airport parking lot because I couldnât get a refund until official check in time had passed.
It sounds like there have been others with positive experiences, but unfortunately I canât say anything good.
My family was visiting southeastern Idaho to attend a funeral and had made a request to stay at this property. The request was sent, the owner accepted the request, and money was exchanged.
Upon arriving at the property I realized that I had never received check in instructions from the homeowner. I attempted to contact the homeowner through phone and email but to no avail. I reached out to VRBO who was also unable to contact the homeowner. Luckily I had friends in the area who took me in for the night.
The following morning VRBO and I made alternative arrangements and the rest of my trip went without incident. At some point the home owner did reach out to me and claimed that he had never seen the request. I find this hard to believe considering that I made the request in advance and that he had accepted the booking request. No effort was made by the homeowner to correct the situation and as such I cannot rate this experience as anything but the lowest score possible.
Your hosts are Greg and Donna Alvord and Heather and Anthony Brandt. We moved to Idaho in late fall 2021 and bought the Old Mill to live in. We bought a larger home in spring of 2022 and returned The Old Mill to a vacation rental.
Shelly is a quaint little farming community. I am sure you know about Idaho potatoes. However, you may not know that 70% of the potatoes from Idaho come from Bingham County where Shelley is located. There is ready access to US 91 and I15 for exploring Yellowstone, Grand Tetons and Craters of the Moon.
