Historical California Bungalow 1 block from Millikin University

Newly listed in late July 2022. 1919 Historical California bungalow with new furnishings. Come enjoy the historic home near other historical homes including a Frank Lloyd Wright home. We are 1 block from Millikin University close to downtown and dining. It is a 3 bedroom with new beds in each bedroom has a Smart wifi tv with cinema hd downloaded for free movies. 55 inch wifi TV wall mounted in living room and a fully stocked kitchen with Keurig coffee maker. Plenty of on property parking with room for 6 vehicles. Fenced in front yard with appealing front porch to enjoy the breeze. Keypad entry with security cameras on the outside of house. Garage is not accessible as it is being used for lawn mower and storage etc. I am a former graduate and record holding athlete in football/ track and field at Millikin University 88-92 and a lifetime resident of Decatur and highly involved in the community. So come visit us because this 103 year old house is rich in history and has more smiles to give so whether you're coming to Millikin to catch a sporting event or even perhaps the Devon Buffett amphitheater to catch a concert We would love to have you come stay. Decatur also has a new "Splash Cove" water park and it is open so book now and enjoy your stay and feel free to ask me any questions I am always available.

Would stay again

Scott is an excellent host. His communication is quick specific. I stayed at the house for a state wrestling tournament with my 10 year old son and a friend of his. Another coach and son came later as well. The kids loved the upstairs to play their video games and have their own space. Location is 1 mile from downtown, close to everything. The house was very clean and servicable. I would stay there again if back in Decatur. Also, I had left a sweatshirt, Scott mailed it back to me right away, I appreciated how available he was.

All good here

The property was clean and in good working order. The neighborhood is quiet and the house was comfortable with heating and everything else working well. We appreciate the coffee, and basics in the kitchen. Be aware that there is only one bathroom with a shower/bath, and that the upstairs largest bedroom does not have a shower. Getting access was super easy.

Great Spot

We were only here a couple nights, but we really enjoyed our stay. Scott really put a lot of thoughtful touches in the house, and had the place clean and ready. Scott responds quickly, and cares about your experience as a guest. You won’t regret coming here! And we look forward to stopping by again :) thanks, Scott!

I am a former Millikin graduate 88-92 during this time I played Football and ran track and field. My parents purchased this house for me and my sisters who are also Millikin graduates. We worked on the house and lived here while going to college. It has been in our family for over 30 years and I decided to open it up and let other families experience this unique home. It is a wonderful home that has many stories to tell so come enjoy and share your story with us.

It is one of the only California Bungalows in Decatur. It is in the historical book of Decatur and was built by Green and Green brothers out of California. It is rich in history and this103 year old house has more smiles to give. Feel free to contact me anytime.
