Cozy getaway in a great location! If you're looking for a quiet stay at the best price in the area, this is a small but beautiful place for 4 people. Enjoy the beautiful Niagara waterfalls just 5 minutes away with plenty of restaurants nearby.
Two bedrooms, each with a queen size bed. Living room, kitchen, and bathroom. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a microwave, toaster, and coffee machine.
Entire apartment. Separate entrance- simple to check in and check out.
The host takes a while to communicate and will not give entry instructions until the day of. The location is good but the neighborhood can be a little rough for some people. I do not recommend going in the summer as the apartment did reach 80 degrees when we were there.
1. Nope2. My husband loved the shower b/c it reminds him of the one he grew up with. In the early 70s.3. The 'Nope' of rentals4. Never forget the 3 rules of renting real estate: 1) Always read the comments. 2) Always read the comments. 3) Always read the comments.5. I remember when chain smoking was cool. So does this apartment.6. Hand towels are for the weak.7. If you ever feel nostalgic for your first off campus rental, this apartment is the cure.8. Drawers are for the weak.9. Nope-itty-nope-nope10. The view directly out the front door is the back of a Dollar General. There is no back door.
Take a ride share or taxi to the Falls! Modest and urban, if you're not used to cities it's not for you. But if you are, secure, safe and incredibly clean! If anything, I'd say pull back stitch on scented use of cleaning products
Property manager let us in early. It was very clean but was an older house and there were not a lot of amenities if you were making your meals there. My grandson wanted to take a walk around the block and I wouldn't let him. It just didn't seem like a neighborhood I wanted him to walk by himself in. It was close to everything.
The apartment was perfect for what we needed for a queck getaway. There was more sleeping space than we realized, so the kids were able to stretch out and have their own space. The owner was very accommodating and responsive and considerate of our travel needs. The area is 10 minutes driving from the main areas of Niagara and 5 minutes from the train station. The area is residential, but a little rundown. Overall, we were very pleased with the apartment.
We loved the house itself, it was convenient enough too.
The houses adjacent were nice but the17th St end was questionable. 19th St was questionable but a block away lots of shady characters. Behind the house on the next block were 3 very overgrown empty lots .Shame for a tourist town like Niagara Falls. Still we would likely stay again as we know what to expect: a decent house in an area neglected by the city. The owners, and a few neighbors, are certainly doing the best with what they have in a not so great area.
We were fine with the property, it did have a weird odor, but we could handle that. The neighborhood looked very unsafe. We didnât have any issues, but I wouldnât stay here again. A lot if the buildings around had wood covering the broken windows or were in disrepair.
This apartment is so close to the falls, which was great, and communicating with the owner was also easy and straightforward.
I am happy overall with the stay, but a few things to note:
-could be a bit cleaner. There was a lot of dust under the beds and couches, and cobwebs in the cabinets.
- the area of town is rundown. That didn't bother me at all, and the door has extra locks for when you're at the apartment, but it might bother others.
- the couch is...not comfortable.
My overall impression: it felt like a clean college boy's apartment. Clean where you could see, with the bare essentials of utensils and plates, silverware etc.
Pictures were a lie. Area scary had shootings. Wish I knew how to upload pictures of we walked into. Owner stated he refunded my money but I have yet to receive. Buyer beware. Owner was nice but definitely should not be renting this place out. Ceiling caving in, stains on shower curtain, ripped bed sheets, big traps in cabinets with dirty dishes in silverware drawer.
Should have listened to the other reviews on the neighborhood. It was not the most comfortable of places to stay. There was a cute little park down the street, but we definitely made sure the car was locked multiple times.
The property honestly made me feel like I was at my parents old house - an old property that had thick layers of paint and felt wet. A dehumidifier would have done wonders. The couch in the main room - you could feel the springs when sitting. It was clean enough, but when checking under the bed for that ever stray sock, I found a Peppa Pig that some child long before us lost.
The host was polite. In other tourist cities, we've had hosts leave maps, restaurant recommendations, best kept secrets, etc but none were left. As others have stated, you get what you pay for.
Nice safe neighbourhood ... outside seating with a cool breeze ... parking on the street, lots of stores around for supplies... close to the event we attended (a wedding).
