Cozy 3 BR 2 Bath Cottage with car and boat parking
Bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun. Two miles to Lake Lemon and Butler Winery. Minutes from downtown Bloomington and IU sports facilities. Also near Brown County State Park, Yellowwood State Forest and downtown Nashville. Even room to park your boat on the property! Offers a private deck off of master bedroom and a large backyard with family deck, grill, fire pit and lots of wildlife to view.
The home was comfortable and well-maintained. My children enjoyed the bunk beds and spacious basement. Just a few minutes away from Bloomington and Brown County make this an affordable option for a family vacation in south-central Indiana.
Pros:Large kitchen, refrigerator, gas oven.Nice firepit with benches.Two bathrooms.Many porches/decks.Lots of parking space.Host good.Cons:Uncomfortable beds, pillows.Awkward living room arrangement, not cozy.No indoor fireplace.Nearby neighbors.
We were disappointed in the sleeping accommodations. The listing shows sleeps 6, however one room has a full size bed, one room has bunk beds (not shown) and the twin bed shown is actually in the basement. We did not know there was a basement or we would not booked it. Also for 6 adults the sleeping arrangements do not work. Cobwebs and large spiders in basement, No hand rails on steps to basement. Cobwebs on bathroom doors.
We stayed here because it is near Lemon Lake and 12 miles from Lake Monroe. The area is located in a very nice location, the house was well equipped with everything we needed. We would stay here again
We were in town for the IU vs. PSU football game, so the location was perfect for getting into and out of Indiana University. Town has a great vibe and everyone was really friendly. I agree with the previous review that the basement bedroom was a bit off putting. Ending up not using it, which for 5 adults was a bit inconvenient. The basement living area was spacious with great seating but the bedroom was just not to our liking (wish it would have stated in the description that the third bedroom was in the basement). The basement also had a slight "damp" odor which maybe a dehumidifier could help eliminate. Enjoyed the firepit in the backyard but having some of the leaves blown away from the house would have been nice.
A mixture of home and luxury. Enough room to have all our own space. You can see where the homeowners constantly made upgrades. Felt like our home. Plus, there's a million things to do in the area!!
