Cozy mountain retreat with a hot tub; steps to national forest trails!
It's all about location and this is the best in Alpine. Bring all the toys and ride directly out into the Targhee National Forest! The bench in Alpine offers the perfect combination of peace, serenity, and direct access to miles of trails.
You'll find plenty of room for toy trailers with three separate driveway entrances. The home is 2300 sq/ft with 2 rooms downstairs and 2 rooms upstairs. All but one of the bedrooms have their own bathroom. The one that doesn't has direct access to the deck/hot tub (not a bad trade off).
Utilities and appliances are all electric with cove and baseboard radiant heat throughout. Like most mountain homes, ours does not have AC. We open the windows in the evening and close them mid-morning on warmer days.
The roads are very well-maintained during winter, but AWD or 4WD is strongly recommended, especially when towing.
Trail Systems: -Targhee: ATV/UTV/Mountain Bike; trailhead just 5 houses away -Grey's River: ATV/UTV/snowmobile, alpine lakes, backpacking/hiking, hunting, fishing; ATV/UTV from the house; snowmobile accessible if you don't want to trailer. -McCoy Wilderness: UTV/ATV/snowmobile- trailer only if not registered in WY -Salt River: Float and/or fly fish all day; nearest access is 10 minutes away. -Snake River: Fly Fishing, floating, whitewater rafting.
Disclaimer: Our fridge is not hooked up to water, so you'll need to bring ice if ice trays don't provide enough ice for your crew.
A beautiful cabin/home in the woods. The accommodations were very comfortable for our group of five adults. The home is tastefully decorated and well stocked for a short or extended stay. Our interaction with the owners was positive and efficient. We canât wait to stay again!
Everything you need for a comfortable winter retreat! We enjoyed our stay, especially a dip in the hot tub after a long day in the mountain! Be sure and say hi to the moose family that lives in the neighborhood. We seen them every morning!
Had a nice stay in Alpine, the house was nice, everything was exactly as advertised. Check in was a little nervous because we didn't receive our check in information, but it was resolved without any issues and everything was fine. Had a nice neighbor that saw our Texas license plates and came to chat with us for a bit, very friendly. Would definitely stay again.
Location is a bit away from Jackson, but within reasonable drive range. But instead of tiny condo or hotel room you get whole house with hiking trails. Nature hot springs are in Hoback, biking paths start south of Jackson, all within 30-40 min drive. Actually, it is possible to ride from Hoback to Jackson and all the way up to Teton village. Blacktail Day use area is good for swimming and Idaho Falls - nice town - is also within reach.
Matt and Heather's home in Alpine is wonderful! Everything is clean and well kept. This is the perfect get away for anyone that enjoys the mountains! The area is very secluded and quaint. You can be in Jackson Hole in 45 minutes, and enjoy all of the Snake River scenery along the way. Will certainly be back to stay!
The house was great! Lots of room for everyone in our group to eat, sleep and relax. The hot tub was very convenient to use which was nice after a long day of snowmobiling. Smart TV's throughout the house kept us entertained in the evenings. My only complaint was that we couldn't stay longer!
We had a couple of questions upon check-in and Matt was quick to respond. Thank you for the great stay!
