La Danza del Sol on Big Assawoman Bay Sleeps 10, has 2 EV Chargers, a Hot Tub, dock space for three boats and more.

Enjoy our elevated and super sun-soaked L-shaped (24’x8’, 32’x10’) upper deck overlooking Roy Creek and the Big Assawoman Bay. Tie up your boat at the long dock and take a dip in the 6-person Caldera Makenahot tub and watch the boaters float by. Enjoy family fun with an assortment of crab traps, two bikes, a pair of kayaks and a huge yard to play corn hole. Pick and eat fresh vegetables from the garden, too! Shower off in a large, well-lighted outdoor shower. La Danza del Sol, (Dancing with the Sun) is a 100 percent* Green Home, powered by 31 solar panels that cleanly capture the sun’s energy. Guests can also plug into the GREEN FUTURE with two complimentary ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGERS. That’s right, 2 FREE CHARGES while you stay at La Danza del Sol!

*The outdoor grill is the exception to the total Green Home, it’s fueled by propane gas. This Keen-wik on the Bay home is on a large mostly grassy lot and a half with with lots of room for kids to run around. It also has an incredible perch on boat-filled Roy Creek and the Big Assawoman Bay less than 100 yards away. We are far from the commercial lights so the stars are bright and the nights are quiet. Rent this stunning home by the week (it's a 7 night minimum, 3 pm Sunday afternoon to 10 am Sunday morning June 15 through September 15.) We permit up to two pets per stay, $125 per pet. Year round, we offer a 20 percent discount off the weekly rate for stays four weeks (28 nights) or longer. Due to continuing concerns about COVID-19, we do not provide linens of any sort, bath towels, soaps, or shampoos, etc. Guests are reminded to supply their own such products. We are sorry for the inconvenience but will supply a list of linen providers upon request.

New for 2024!!! We’ve added a 15’ L-shaped bar to the ground floor. The 70+ year-old red oak bar was salvaged from a historic restaurant and bar inside the Capital Beltway. Enjoy an assortment of coffees in the provided coffee-espresso maker. There is a second refrigerator at the end of the bar, an under-bar refrigerator next to the sink and a bar dishwasher, a microwave, and an underbar ice maker all for your convenience. Enjoy free ice to fill your coolers for beach and boat trips! And, adjacent to the bar is a new, super-sized, ADA-compliant fully tiled bath and shower. And, La Danza del Sol now has an indoor exercise area with recombinant bike and rowing machine, Yoga mat and hand weights. The area is finished off with a full-size LG washer/dryer set. There's also a third, tiled with heated floor ADA-compliant bath with shower. (Coming in June 2024, a fourth bedroom on the ground floor with an adjacent Great Room.)

Beach Vacation

Property was as described. Located on the Bay. Convenient drive to beaches and other attractions. We are familiar with the area. Owner was very accommodating and provided great advice and overview of property and its amenities. Would stay there again.

Jeffrey Yorke is a former newspaper reporter and editor. Gregory Yorke is a former auto mechanic and jack of all trades. Together, the brothers Yorke have been property owners/managers since 1982. We are family-owned and operated. We have rental and vacation escape properties from the shadow of the nation's capital to the edge of the Atlantic Ocean including a couple on the Chesapeake Bay. We specialize in short-term stays and beach getaways. Be sure to go to the shore this summer!

La Danza del Sol is one of our recent beach projects and it is where we have some of our fondest childhood memories -- at the Atlantic shore. The Keenwik on the Bay house is probably the brightest, sunniest home we've ever lived in. Year round, it's full of bright sunlight and it just warms our hearts. We love it and we think you will too!

The sun, the sound of rising tides beating against the boats in the canal, the squawking of geese -- Canadas in the fall and spring -- and the sight of egrets dancing on the docks to pounce on fish below. This is an unusually quiet neighborhood at night and the skies are not lite by commercial interference but dark so the stars burn brightly. Such a remarkable and pleasant difference from an evening inside the Beltway.
