The Carriage House at Parker's Place

The Lester Parker property, the neoclassical revival home built in 1905, is on the National Register of Historic Places and sits on the corner of historic Capitol Avenue and Lafayette Street. Diagonally across the intersection is the old Missouri State Penitentiary and directly across Lafayette Street is the Missouri State Penitentiary Museum and Penitentiary Tour Ticket Office.

The beautiful, newly remodeled 100-year-old Carriage House at Parker's Place is loaded with the finest amenities. The Carriage House offers two bedrooms upstairs in the Chauffeur's quarters. Enjoy the beautifully remodeled bathroom with immaculate walk-in shower. The full kitchen on the main floor holds every amenity including black granite countertop island with seating for four, original 1923 farm sink from the Parker's home, drawer refrigerator, under-the-counter ice machine that provides individual, top hat-style and hard gourmet ice, four cook-top range, dishwasher and stacked washer/dryer. Relax in the comfortable living room featuring plush pillows, chairs and sleeper/sofa along with wall-mounted tv. The fenced-in back porch provides the private setting to unwind and reconnect, while being located in the Center of it All!
We cater to Katy Trail bikers, with cleaning accessories and bike storage as needed.
The central location of the The Carriage House at Parker's Place is within walking distance of the State Capitol and the old Missouri State Penitentiary, which both offer tours; shopping and dining in downtown Jefferson City; and the Katy Trail, a popular hiking and cycling trail with rental bikes available. Our family enjoyed our stay at The Carriage House. The restoration blended the property's historical attributes with modern amenities to create a comfortable, pleasing home away from home. The hosts provided timely communication about the check in and out process so our visit was a joy!

The Carriage House

We stayed 4 nights driving 8 hours from southern Arkansas (attending a wedding). The property is exactly as advertised--it is comfortable and pleasant. While we are often greeted by an owner or a property manager when we use vrbo, the instructions we received were fine. We would have liked access to local news, instead of having to stream channels, but we got caught up via our computers. The owners communicated promptly by text, which we appreciated. If we return to Jeff City, we will stay at the Carriage House again!

Charming getaway

Visiting Jeff City for family and enjoyed the convenience of the Carriage house. It’s a short walk to the capital and restaurants. Very cute decor with an old world charm. Everything was clean and well stocked with towels and linens. The owners were responsive with some minor things that came up, would definitely stay here again!

Cool place!

A very nice and neat home. Loved staying there. The only problem we had was the freezer was only an ice cube maker. Had to eat ice cream immediately (darn!).

Great option for Mizzou visit

Loved it!

My kids and I needed a home away from home for a few days. This was perfect, and we definitely felt away from the world but yet still able to access places if we wanted. Loved our stay!

Memorable Weekend Get Away

This property is such a fun place to stay for the weekend. It was exactly as seen in the online photos and clean with easy check in process. The location is nearby the places we planned to visit including the Capitol building. If you have children don’t miss the chance to visit nearby Community Park; an awesome playground unlike any we had visited in other places. Two suggestions for making things a bit easier in the house: hooks (coats near the front door, PJs or towels in bedrooms) and Tupperware or glass jars with lids for leftovers in the kitchen. I hope we can return again to this awesome property.
