3 guys hunting in the area. The house was much better than the alternative of a couple of rooms in a local motel for three nights. Melinda was extremely friendly and forthcoming. Very clean and exactly as represented. Only drawback was lack of local restaurants and stores, but we love to cook so bought groceries and prepared meals. Might be an issue if you didnât want to cook. We will be back next year!
Easy to find, although the directions through Vrbo took me around the block to a dirt road, I knew from the picture that we had passed the house. Very easy to get into, clean. We would have lived to make use of the back deck and fire pit but it rained on us!
I grew up in Wanette and this little house has been in my family for 100 years. House has totally been remodeled 4 years ago and I have been renting out to travelers for the past two years. It's been a rewarding experience.
The house has been in the family for many years. The Rice Hotel used to be located in the same spot. My name is Rice and even though the house was built for my great grandparents in the 1920's. I still think of it as the Rice Hotel.
I still think of all the travelers that came in off of the train and stayed at the Rice Hotel which was on the same lot. On the same property used to be Puckett's Radio and Appliances. The Rice Hotel closed in 1918 and the appliance store closed in 1954. So the area has some historical charm.
