Fabulous villa in fabulous location

Had a wonderful week at the villa. The villa itself is stunning with fantastic views right on the beach. Everything is accessible on foot with a 15 minute walk in to Praia da rocha with all the shops restaurants and nightlife. A small local shop 2 minutes walk and a few bars and restaurants on the doorstep. Communication with the owners was really good with easy instructions on arrival and during our stay. Highly recommended for a relaxing holiday in a brilliant location, no car needed. Perfect for families as there is a self contained apartment also. Beds were really comfortable and the location couldn’t have been better. Thank you so much, we had an amazing time.

Beautiful Villa with character

We stayed for the week ending 4th June 2022. The only mishap we had was the door to the main house closed behind me, I'm staying ing the separate apartment above and I had left the only 1 key to the main house on the hallway table. I would request a second key if the group staying there have separate outings. I was charged €25 to be let back in.

Amazing villa

We really enjoyed our week in August at this property. It has a great layout and feel, and meets what we were hoping for from the pictures. It is separated from the beach by a road, but this doesn’t detract from its excellent location. Will be going back? Answer - no. The prices for next year are being hiked by about 30%. It was already expensive, but worth it. The new prices make it too much for us and harder to ignore the one significant issue which was the lack of usable shade around the pool during the afternoon. A pergola or something similar would be an ideal solution and in keeping with the look of the property. While we were there, there was no hot water in the main bedrooms downstairs. So we had to shower in the separate room upstairs. The decor and linen were also a little tired, but still acceptable. Overall a great place. Were it not for the price increases, I would give it the highest possible recommendation.

Dear Mark, we are pleased that you enjoyed your stay in our beach villa. Thank you for the outstanding 5* rating. We would like to address your mentioned points and comments: Prices: The prices will increase for next year because we will be carrying out extensive renovation and conversion work again next winter. The villa will then be offered for 8 people instead of just 6 people - so the capacity of the villa will increase by 25 % and we will have to make the increase accordingly. Furnishing: The furnishing and equipment was so far never an issue with all our guests - to the contrary the design and traditional style was always highly appreciated. During our renovation this winter however we will be also updating details keeping true to the beach villa style. Shading: When it comes to shading, our guests always have two parasols available, which can be placed in the different locations as desired. Also a shady pergola is already on the rooftop. Hot water: The villa has hot water throughout all bathrooms an kitchen. Our cleaning staff checks this twice a week - also during your stay. Our manager went to your assistance during your stay and showed you that hot water was running. Due to the solar system, it takes some time for the water to warm up. In order to save water, this winter we will install a modern circulation pump for faster hot water supply. Thank you again for the 5* rating, we hope to welcome you back again some day and wish you all the best.

Beautiful Property, Fabulous Location

My husband and I rented this beautiful home for two weeks, and we were joined by another couple for the second week. There was plenty of room for all four of us to spread out if we wanted to and several options to spend time together in the house for meals, conversation, areas, lounging by the pool, etc. all of the beds were comfortable and each bedroom had its own bathroom with shower. The house is located in a busy area, but is VERY private. The house is within walking distance to a couple of good restaurants, small grocery store, and a pub, and of course great beaches. We walked from the beach in front of the house all the way down, about two kilometres along the beach. Best to do this at low tide but doable at high tide as well. There is a narrow one-way road between the house and the beach, and if you continue walking down this one-way road for about 10 minutes, you come across a market that is on every day, and is about 1 km long. There are vendors, restaurants, shops, mostly souvenir type retail, but still enjoyable to walk down and stop for lunch at one of the many Italian or other restaurants. Our favourite was San Martino, overlooking the ocean. From the house location, you can drive to several wonderful small towns and take a tour on the Bengail Caves. Cons - there were extra charges to have the swimming pool heated to 82° and to use the air conditioning, which in the summertime is a must. We had some plumbing issues and always seem to be short on towels.

Wonderful beachside villa

The property was everything as described and more. The interior was tastefully decorated with ample seating and various dining areas inside and out. Even though February is the off season the weather was pleasant and no crowds of tourists on the beach. The restaurants were in walking distance of the villa. The Jacaranda was particularly delightful. We'll certainly be returning again next year. What a find!
