Cute little apartment. Equipped with the basics and perfect for us who spent our days about town. We loved the private green back patio.
Rough neighborhood.
A small supermarket up the street had all the necessities.
Two bedrooms with double twin beds (king), one bathroom, and a kitchen/dining/living area. The internet was barely functional - so slow. The neighborhood was interesting and multi-cultural, with grocery (Rewe) just a few minutes walk alway. Many places are closed but there are lots of options to find something to eat (Chokogi was terrific!!), a nearby laundromat, and a few steps to Kottbusser Tor metro (U bahn) for convenient transportation. Apartment was mostly quiet (canât help the heavy footed upstairs neighbors). No shower products provided but hand soap, toilet paper, and paper towels were; and instructions to wash every dish used before leaving. Instructions were easy to follow for check-in, and a local phone number was provided for emergencies.
Overall a good experience. The property manager was accommodating and was able to help us when there was trouble upon check-in. The property is true to the listing and is in very close proximity to central Kreuzberg. Very recommended if you want to see the non-tourist side of Berlin. Walking distance to the U-Bahn which makes for quick access to all of Berlin.
This apartment was perfect for our family of 4. The beds are comfortable and there is a nice living space. We didnât feel cramped at all. The neighborhood is a bit edgy, which we like, but may not be right for everyone. Tons of great cafes and restaurants in the area and very close to the train.
I do wish communication had been better. It started off fine when we booked, but then I didnât hear anything until the morning of our arrival which was stressful. I had to call VRBO support and then quickly got a response and the arrival/entry instructions. I understand you may not be able to send codes until the morning of, but you need to more clearly communicate that to give people peace of mind. I was really scared we didnât have a place to stay.
That said, our stay was amazing and we loved our time in Berlin. I would recommend. Just work on better info regarding arrival.
This apartment was the most spacious and comfortable place we stayed in Europe - nicely decorated and furnished. The wifi is a little slow, but easy to use. The host was responsive. I would stay here again, and recommend it to friends.
One caveat: it is located in a rough area. To reach the flat heading north from Kontbusser Tor, you go through a passage (i.e., through the building) past restaurants and bars, and this area is fine. However, I was not used to the idea of reaching a street through a building, and started going up Reichenberger Strasse. Big mistake: there were 15-20 people loitering around openly doing & exchanging drugs. I saw at least 3 deals take place in the time it took us to walk past. I didn't see needles, but I saw 2 people with spoons & lighters, and a granny pouring dirty grey powder from a small baggie into a small metal tin. Our kids were pretty shocked with this F2F encounter with junkies. I looked down the street on subsequent days, and there was always a group there, by the alley that leads to the kindergarten. We also saw several visibly intoxicated (staggering, dropping things) people in the area around Kottbusser, including in the Rewe supermarket.
That said, we never felt directly threatened, and 20m from junkie alley, there were nice restaurants and bars with well-dressed young couples on dates, and single women walking alone unworriedly.
I would happily stay at this location again - just don't go down Reichenberger Strasse.
Einfache Ferienwohnung in zentraler Lage.
Just around the corner of busy Koti, but itâs calm and quiet in this nice apartment, even with a little terrace. The beds were comfortable, as was the shower. Perfect place to discover Berlin from!
