Cozy Year Round Lakefront Cabin- Family & Dog friendly- Private Dock

The "Kozy Cabin" is located on 75 ft of Lake Front on beautiful Johnson Lake in Arbor Vitae/Woodruff just 7 minutes from the heart of Minocqua. Best of both worlds- just minutes away from great restaurants and fun AND IT IS RIGHT ON THE LAKE. 20 minutes from Boulder Junction. 15 minutes from St. Germain.

This is our family cabin and is a great place to unplug and unwind and simply enjoy the serenity the Northwoods has to offer.

A gradual slope leads to private dock and mix of sand/rock frontage which is perfect for adults and for kids of all ages.

Johnson is a full rec lake so bring you water skis or your boat in the summer and don't forget to bring your fishing poles!

You'll also enjoy easy access to the snowmobile and ATV/UTV trail systems offering literally hundreds of miles of groomed trails throughout northern Wisconsin and upper Michigan. And be sure to visit some of the neighboring towns to discover fabulous restaurants and a wide variety of shopping options.

Very nice !!!

Very clean and very nice VRBO right on the lake. The hell down to the lake is not ideal. This place is very close to town and restaurants couldn't be a better place to have a getaway. If you're looking for a smaller place, it's amazing!

Weekend Get Away

We had a great and relaxing weekend away from home. The property was very nice, clean and updated. Easy to get to and on a quiet lake. Very close to shopping, restaurants, and fun. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Would definitely go back.

Exceptional Lake home close to town

The cabin was perfect for our trip. Great fishing right in front of the cabin. Location was ideal, just a few minutes drive into town. Cabin was well stocked with all the essential. They had a minocqua monopoly game that we loved to play at the end of the night. Would highly recommend staying here!

Perfect fit!

This place was everything we could’ve asked for to have a relaxing and fun family vacation. Great location as it’s close to town and restaurants but still feels secluded on a lake. We enjoyed relaxing in the cozy cabin on rainy days and being outdoors when the weather allowed. Fishing was great and we enjoyed campfires by the lake and the kayaks. The cabin had everything we needed and beds were super comfortable. Thanks Melissa, it was one of our top family vacations.

Wonderful family memories

Our week long stay at the Kozy cabin was filled with memories and magical fun! The lake is crystal clear and we loved watching the wildlife from the dock, including a bald eagle family, loons, and deer. The location is so close to town that going out to area restaurants, shops and attractions was easy and quick. We loved the two public beaches for playing in the sand,swimming and rock/gem hunting. The cabin is comfortable and clean. We really enjoyed the kayaks provided. The host is so responsive to questions.

Kozy Cabin

The Kozy cabin was a life saver for this summer’s up north vacation. The weather wasn’t so good our entire week we stayed. (We plan our vacation around being out on the lake/outside.) That being said we were inside a lot. The cabin was clean and homey. We played board games, the switch, and my girls and I watched YouTube to learn how to crochet.The WiFi is fast. When we were outside, the yard was beautiful. We saw lots of wildlife right in our yard. And we caught fish off the pier. Out 2 dogs loved the yard. And 1 got over her fear of water and played in the lake! You won’t be sorry if you rent the Kozy Cabin. The owners were so very nice to communicate with also!!

Excellent communication with the host family. They were able to accommodate our late request to bring our 2 fur babies (dog cost very affordable) and gave us recommendations for boat rentals. Johnson lake is a wonderful full rec lake that is smaller and wonderfully not busy! Perfect size for kayaking around, zipping the kids around on the tube, or swimming off the boat in the middle of the lake. We were able to catch a fair amount of fish off the dock and while on the boat. The house is small but perfect for a family of 4 (and 2 dogs) and packed with amenities like games, blankets, grill, fire pit, marshmallow sticks, etc. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of ceiling fans, floor fans, and a portable AC unit in the family room which my dogs adored! The only complaints I had was needing to drive the dogs to a walking trail or park since the house is located right off hwy 47, making it impossible to just take a walk directly from the cabin. Lastly they warned us of the sulphur smell/taste to the tap water, and it was prominent. Both of these “complaints” weren’t deal breakers for us and not a reflection of the host or our overall experience.

Lakefront cabin

Cabin was nice. Had everything you could possibly need! No a/c and of course it was the hottest days of the season so far. Cabin was hot, very hot-83 degrees at night and hotter during the day! Owners did send 2 stand up fans to the house when they saw it was going to be so hot. Thank God it was windy! Shoreline was not good for swimming, very weedy and mucky. So with it being so hot and humid we couldn't swim. There were no steps to get down to the lake and the hill was pretty steep and uneven. It wasn't too much of an issue for us, but older folks would have a struggle up and down the hill I think. Saw a lot of deer on the property and around the entire lake. Deck was nice but could use an umbrella or some sort of shade for when the sun beats down on it. There was a firepit down by the lake at the bottom of the hill with firewood to use. We couldn't use it due to it being too windy for my comfort of having a fire. Overall it was nice and exactly what we expected except for the swimming. I think if the shoreline was raked a bit it could be nice. Plenty of parking and even a garage I think available? We didn't use it but there is one there. Lots of cameras on the property. I guess it's good for safety but it just felt kinda weird. Not sure if I'd stay again without air conditioning or a decent shoreline to swim. Otherwise it was perfect!

30 yr anniversary getaway

We loved the location and quiant cabin. Wish weather wouldve been better for kayaking. But they made sure to have them out for us just in case. THANK YOU. Everything was great.

Cute and nice spot on the lake.

This house is cute on the inside with a very comfortable bed. The kitchen is very well stocked and the management company is easy to work with and very accessible. Although the house is on a busy road the lakeside is beautiful and having kayaks and a canoe is a nice benefit. We enjoyed the local golf courses and the supper clubs very much. It was a good week for us.

Great location for everything you would want to do in the area

Kozy Cabin was just right for us and our well behaved dog. Right on a lake, good fishing from the dock and we really enjoyed the deck. We had no mosquitos bothering us which was a relief since back home the mosquitos were horrendous. Hwy 47 was busy and noisy at times and the water really stunk and had to use bottled water for everything. Overall, we had a great time at Kozy Cabin.

Fun Family Vacation

Our family of 5 plus dogs had a great time here!! We spent a lot of time enjoying the lake - kayaking, playing in the water and fishing. My husband was thrilled to catch a 41” musky off the pier! The kids loved catching bass, bluegill, and perch. And, our lab pretty much lived in the water:) It was also great to be so close to Woodruff and Minocqua towns. There were many family friendly places for us to visit. Overall, very fun stay with great memories made!

Cute, quaint cottage. Clean and welcoming. Close to town yet you get the feel of being secluded in the woods. Quiet lake and great fishing off the pier! Definitely would book it again. We are a family of 5 with 2 red labs. We came across this area in 2018 on a camping trip to the UP and instantly fell in love!! We have been coming back ever since, each time exploring more of the surrounding areas and more restaurants, we have not found an eatery or location yet that we do not throughly enjoy! We equally enjoy summer & winter! We describe the Minoqua area to our friends as a 'laid back summer & winter spot that is full of fun surprises at every turn'. We hope you fall instantly in love just as we did!

If you are like us, you want to have a view of the water at ALL times, and here you have just that. View of the lake from the living room, kitchen and primary bedroom.
With being on of the smaller cabins on Johnson lake the views across the lake are amazing!
