Host is great. Two Kayaks, Paddle Board and a canoe provided for outdoor activities and Board Games for Family game night. The place is perfect we will be back.
We were used to the area as we had lived about 200 feet away from the cottage. It is an older cottage, built in 1938. There was a bit of a problem communicating with the property manager. I had left a couple voice mails that went unanswered and when we got to the property, she was in a hurry to leave as her friend just had a baby. So what to do with the sheets that were in the dryer and other questions went unanswered. Nice cottage, interior had been up graded perhaps a few years ago. And a nice beach, complete with ducks and geese. Very cute.
The location was so beautiful and the beach was enjoyed by my great grandchildren. Unfortunately the cottage was not what we expected. Upon arrival the door was open and the place was not clean. The tub and shower curtain were dirty and the kitchen floor was dirty with no cleaning supplies available. I called the owner and she brought over some swifter pads and floor cleaner. I do not think it was my responsibility to clean .The refrigerator was not clean also. We could not find any towels because they were down in the basement being washed. We had to dry the towels. Stairs to second floor were not clean and air conditioners needed to have clean fiters. My great grandaughter stubbed her toe and we needed a First Aid Kit. I searched for one and it was in the dresser on the entry way. There were no instructions about checkout like most places have. I have been using many places for many years and this is the first time I have ever had to write a negative review. The sad part is that we loved the location and didn't mind that the place was old as it was so quaint. The negative review was due to the lack of cleanliness . We really think we should receive a refund .
Place is a great getaway. Close enough to stores but still have the feeling of being in the woods. Laurie has made the house feel welcoming and charming.
