Perfect for all seasons, our lakefront cottage on Shawano Lake offers the ideal setting for summer fun, cozy winter escapes, and everything in between. Located on the south side of Shawano Lake, this modern, comfortable cottage features a private dock, flat walk-out access to the water, and amenities designed for families, couples, fishing trips, girls’ weekends, and year-round relaxation.

Enjoy fishing and swimming in the summer, snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter, and breathtaking sunset views every evening. With grocery stores, restaurants, breweries, golf courses, ATV/snowmobile trails, shops, and casinos just minutes away, convenience meets tranquility at this warm and welcoming retreat.

House was VERY clean and all the amenities anyone would need for a great stay. We stayed in the winter for ice fishing, but imagine that summer would be a terrific stay as well.

There were no tires or dock cushions on the pier. First place I’ve rented on Shawano Lake in over 45 years of coming to this lake with a boat that didn’t have any tires or dock cushions to keep your boat from getting scratched. And it’s extremely shallow and on windy days the wave make it hard enough to dock but boat control was difficult due to keeping the motor high enough to not bottom out but still keep water circulation and some boat control. The use of tires our other dock cushions would have been a huge help docking the boat in high wind and wave conditions that are typical on Shawano Lake. Cabin was clean but it’s not the best if you bringing a fishing boat. Too shallow and no dock cushioning at all. Bring plenty of your own.

Thank you for your review. We're sorry that our place did not meet your expectations. During your stay, the weather was very windy, and we agree that this would make it a little more difficult for boat docking. During our 4 years of owning (and many more just being on Shawano), we find this prolonged wind to not be the norm. While the south side is generally less wavy, it is also shallow, making it great for swimming. There are very few places on the lake where docks are going to provide depth of much more than 3 or 4 feet while still being within acceptable lengths. With the height of the dock out of the water (it sits a little higher than others to account for shoreline height), we do not provide tires or cushions, as everyone’s boat will sit differently along the dock. We have found that guests who own or rent boats generally have their own bumpers for docking, launching, hooking up at sandbars, etc… Despite the wind, we are glad you enjoyed your time at the cottage, as you had mentioned in direct messages that the cabin was "nice and cozy."

Great for families with small children

Our group, which included four small children, had a wonderful time. The location was perfect, and we enjoyed playing with water toys and kayaks outside and games and toys inside. The cottage definitely exceeded our expectations. We would certainly love to stay here again!

This was our second stay at the Sunset Escape. It is so peaceful and relaxing with a great sunset view. We love that we can rent a boat and tie it up on the dock. It has everything you need and is close to all Shawano has to offer. Communication with Kyle and Jenny is clear and fast.

Absolute great long weekend!

Everything about this VRBO is fantastic. We all slept well, beautiful sunsets, updated property. The dock area and slide is nice and weed free. The Lily pad/magic carpet was a hit with the kiddos. We enjoyed our time here and would stay here again without hesitation. Thank you for opening your home to us!

This was a very nice cabin/small house, obviously older but fixed up nicely. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable, plenty of seating downstairs, and the hosts had a nice addition of games and puzzles for all ages.

Wonderful home. Has all you need for a great time at the lake. I even made to requests and asked for advice and the owner’s responsed immediately. Great Experience all around. Not many homes can accommodate a family. This one is fantastic!

Excellent Place, would stay again

We stayed here while ice fishing on Shawano Lake, the location provided excellent access to the lake. The house was incredibly clean and very modern. Would definitely recommend it and we are already looking forward to next year.

A fun and relaxing week

This is older but very nicely updated cottage. The water toys that are provided were a big hit with the kids and the dock was plenty long enough to secure both our pontoon and fishing boat. The neighbors were awesome to chat with and there are lots of things to do both on the water and at businesses in the area. Thanks Kyle and Jenny!!

Excellent lake house

This was an amazing lake house, and great for a big group. Large open living space for everyone to gather and enjoy time together. Super easy check in process and great communication with the owners. Could not recommend this place enough for groups or family’s.

Great View and nicely refinished interior.

Had a great time at this property, very relaxing. Nicely remolded interior with full kitchen. Great place to get away with a lot of fun activities in the area. Highly recommend.

Pourquoi avoir choisi cet hébergement ?

We fell in love with this property when we first stepped foot on it. The house is beautiful and completely redone on the inside. Sitting on the deck and watching the sunsets is one of our favorite things to do. This place is perfect for families and has some special accommodations for the kiddos, including kids kitchenware, little potty seat, bathroom stepstool, toys and a waterslide on the dock. The water is shallow on our lot, perfect for little ones to play in the water. We hope everyone is able to have a piece of the lake life. The lot has a small hill by the road, but otherwise it is a flat walk from the house to the water, which was a must for us.
