Welcome to your Plum Island beach getaway in beautiful Newbury, Massachusetts. Enjoy private beach access, peaceful coastal surroundings, and one of the best locations on the island while staying just steps from the sand and within walking distance to local restaurants, shops, and attractions.

Please note that stays are booked Saturday to Saturday in 7 day increments.

Located on the beach side of the street, this cozy beach retreat offers easy access to miles of oceanfront shoreline in either direction. Guests can enjoy the calming sounds of the waves, relaxing beach days, and convenient access to nearby local favorites including Plum Island Grille, Plum Island Kitchen, Beachcoma, Plum Island Provisions, and The Cottage. Downtown Newburyport is just a short 7 minute drive away with shopping, restaurants, and local activities, while Salisbury Beach is approximately 15 minutes away.

This property is one of three separate units located on the property and includes two private parking spaces. Unit B is located on the first floor at street level with Unit A occupying the two floors above it and Unit C located separately above the garages. Because the unit sits below dune level, there are no direct beach views from inside the home and most windows face the street side. The unit also does not include a private deck or grill.

Guests do have access to a shared private beach area located approximately 30 paces from the front door, providing direct access onto the public beach. The private beach access area is shared with Units A and C and includes a shared open air cold water outdoor shower for rinsing off sand and salt water after the beach.

Inside, the home offers approximately 732 square feet of comfortable living space with two queen bedrooms, one full bathroom, a queen pullout couch, washer and dryer, dishwasher, and everything needed for a relaxing beach stay.

Please note that the private beach access area is shared with the upstairs unit, 6A Plum Royale.

Parking on Plum Island can be limited, but this property includes two private parking spaces for guests. Additional public parking lots are located nearby, including one directly across the street with an automated pay station.

A fully refundable $200 security deposit will be collected separately in addition to the reservation amount.

Whether you are planning a beach vacation, summer getaway, or peaceful coastal retreat, this Plum Island stay offers a fantastic location just steps from the beach and close to everything the island has to offer.

This was our second stay at Plum Royal Jr and we love its coziness, proximity (walkable) to the beach, local restaurants and ice cream shops and Newburyport (short drive). The place has all you need for a beach stay complete with beach towels, a couple of chairs, plenty of bedding and a well equipped kitchen. Also Taylor is a great host and very responsive. Also we had great neighbors in the upstairs unity who we saw regularly on our way to the beach. Recommend this spot as a great place to come and explore Plum Island!

This was a great spot to stay! It was very conveniently located to the beach and the little town on Plum Island. Everything was clean and comfortable. We would love to stay there again!

Great location, less than a minute walk to the beach. A very unique island, with beautiful salt marsh on one side, open ocean on the other. Gorgeous Sandy beach stretching the length of the island. Funky year-round island vibe, one of New England’s most idiosyncratic and unique places. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, well-equipped and -maintained. Comfortable beds, good linens and towels. Excellent, communicative, responsive, friendly, and welcoming property manager.

Loved It!!

We went during the off season (on purpose), so pretty much had the beach to ourselves, and no one else was staying at Plum Royale. Very comfortable quarters and very clean. Walk around the house and you are on the beach! Would definitely recommend! The one piece of advice I would offer is that road is a busy one, and the cars move pretty quickly. With the house being so close to the road, I'd just say keep on your toes! Thanks for a great stay!!

The property was cleanTook a bit of time to heat upLovely location Our host could’ve been more timely with responses along the way. All worked out in the end but that’s not the point of a review, right? I highly recommend providing renters with a key/lockbox in the future as the battery on the lock died and we were locked out , in the cold for 90 minutes But the house itself was perfect for us

Great location

Five stars for location and the apartment is very cute and clean. No ocean views but we knew that ahead of time so just a short walk around the house and you are on the beach. Unfortunately there needs to be more insulation between the upstairs apartment and the bedrooms. The people above us were not trying to be loud but every foot step, chair moving and voices came right into the bedroom which went on until 1am each night. Ugh. Make sure to eat at the Riptide and hike the trails of Parker park.

I booked for two nights, only lasted for one. The unit is marketed as including air conditioning but the one small air conditioner in the living room couldn't keep up to cool the entire unit. It made sleeping uncomfortable, especially for kids. Also, there was a weird musty smell. The outside photos are deceiving because the building itself is in complete disrepair.

Hi Francis, we are really sad to hear that you did not enjoy your time at our condo unit. The unit does include A/C (we do not have central) but typically adjust seasonal A/C system size depending on the weather. Since your stay was in the end of September, usually this time of the year, it is getting quite cold so we installed a smaller A/C system. We apologize and will take note of this to keep the more powerful one through October for the future. We have never had any issues before but weather is quite unpredictable. If we had known during the stay, would have been happy to come out and make the adjustment. We have since investigated what you mentioned as a musty smell and found it to be A/C that was overworking during your stay. Regarding the building, we are not sure if you're mentioning our direct unit building as we have newer purple siding, porch and walkway to the beach. Our neighbor's purple house that is directly next door and shares the garages has more outdated siding etc. I'm sorry for any confusion and hope we can welcome you back at a future time to make it up to you!

Great spot on the beach

We really enjoyed our stay here on Plum Island. The apartment was clean, comfortable and inviting and had everything we needed for a weeks stay. It was an incredible treat to be steps away from the beach, have a private sandy beach area, and be able walk over to the ice cream stand and local restaurants. A great place to stay!

Perfectly Placed on Plum Island

We had the best week on Plum Island, with this gorgeous condo as our home base. It was beautifully styled, well stocked, comfortable, immaculately clean - and you just can't beat having the beach as your backyard. The owners were wonderful to work with and easy to reach if we had any questions. We loved spending our days on the water and walking to Cottage Creamery for ice cream every night. Would highly recommend this little bit of paradise on Plum Island, and we hope to be back soon!

Absolutely lovely place! Definitely would rent again. We loved be ing steps away from the beach.

Frankie and Noah have created a charming and cozy space. We felt relaxed and at home from the minute we arrived. Kitchen was well stocked with all the items you need. I would like a few extra bathroom towels and hand towels.

Lovely, clean apartment with semiprivate beach

Our family loved having a bit of semi-private beach to base ourselves while playing in the ocean. This summer it's all about maintaining physical distance and we were able to do that well. The apartment is exactly as described in the listing. Very clean, neatly kept, and well appointed. The owners are very responsive. And the location can't be beat.

Sparkling Clean, Wonderful Host

I can’t say enough good things about our hosts, Frankie and Noah! They were super responsive and helpful throughout the entire booking process and stay. The place itself is amazing- newly renovated, perfectly clean, and with extremely soft sheets and towels- you’d think you’re in a 5 star hotel! The unit is exactly as pictured and shares a private beach with the unit upstairs. It was perfect for my husband and I and a couple of friends (having two parking spaces was extra convenient)! Absolutely hope to return and stay again as soon as possible.
