Charming Cottage behind main house in Spring Lake. Walk to town, bike or walk to beach, and, walk to lake. Two beach/pool badges included. Note: You must walk down main house driveway to access cottage. No on-site parking. Overnight parking nearby approx. 1 block away. SL has an ordinance that bans parking in non-approved locations from 3 am until 6 am. Fortunately, an approved location is, as noted, one block away on the south side of Mercer at the diagonal spots.
Daniel's cottage is spacious (certainly for one person), clean, and well located, just a short walk into town or to the beach. The check-in instructions were easy to follow and everything went smoothly. Beach badges a major plus! Would definitely stay there again.
Although the town of the rental was beautiful and welcoming, the place itself was not so much.. on initial arrival, the instructions of entering the property was rather confusing, and getting INSIDE was even harder task. As soon as we arrived we noticed a wasp nest on the overhang and we were having issues with the door- we later found out the door handle deadbolt was BROKEN. We also saw that some of the windows were unlockable. Inside the house, there was water damage almost everywhere, other peopleâs belongings, wood peeling. Otherwise, me and my friend had a good stay.
We went to a concert in Asbury and this cottage was the perfect place for our stay. It was about a 15-20 min Uber ride to the venue. Cottage was clean and as advertised. Communication with the host was a pleasure as well.
Very disappointed with cottage. Run down and not as advertised. Host was very friendly but overall cleanliness and supplies were not as expected. Kitchen was not outfitted, Garbage can didnât even have a top. Needed to buy towels and utensils for kitchen.
Daniel runs a great property in spring lake, 5 minute walk from the train, cozy with the essentials (beach chairs and badges) provided for. You can spend the entire trip without need for a car if you like to walk. 10-12 min walk to beach or 10 minute walk to town. Very safe, residential neighborhood.
The only reason weâre knocking this to 4 stars is because there was a power issue (took out some of the lights but all the essentials including AC remained active) and cleanliness (unit couldâve used a scrub - quite a few spiders in every room). However, Daniel was incredibly responsive and attentive, bringing us additional lights, a tower fan, flashlights and having an electrician come out to assess. I imagine this will not happen again in the future and weâd happily stay here again.
One review I read before I booked cottage was that it " wasn't as quaint as pictured". I would have to say that was an understatement. Peeling walls, no privacy on window in bathroom ( blind didn't work), air mattresses (x2) didn't inflate, picture fell off wall in bedroom and left on floor, garbage overflowing in back of main house. Had to call VRBO for check in code to be sent when we arrived. Tried to get money back however became an argument with owner.
My wife and I stayed here as a last Summer 23 getaway before back to school
Great location, near everything and very quiet. Daniel the host is great, prompt with communication and flexible. Everything you want
We had a great time
We had a very nice time in Spring Lake and having this very quaint little cottage to stay in was a big part of the reason why. Daniel is great! Very responsive and always available. We had everything we needed. I highly recommend this!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Danâs property. It was a charming beach town rental with a simple check in and check out process. Dan being very accommodating was a huge plus!
This is a lovely and clean cottage for a couple or single looking to be near Spring Lake. Dan was incredibly kind and flexible as we changed our arrival time on him.
