This house was designed by a local Painter/ architect, and is located in the Historic Heart of Oaxaca De Juarez. There is a private terrace where you have a great view of the city. And you can walk everywhere: Mercado, Santo Domingo, Art Galleries, Restaurants, Zocalo, Organic Market. A prime location!! And the house feels so peaceful with a great flow, and a bright decor. Lovely experience!
Beautiful space, fantastic location and a very accommodating host! Oaxaca De JuĂĄrez is a fabulous city and this is the perfect spot to explore it from. Clean, comfortable, and very quiet relative to the location. Early evenings on the roof were especially lovely. We are grateful to have stayed here and will return when we can!
Property was conveniently located to downtown, within quick walking distance to Santo Domingo and Zocalo. Fans provided helped cool the house at night. The roof top patio was lovely, breezy, and perfect for city-gazing and relaxing. Patricia was very responsive to my many questions, and allowed us to stay past her stated check-out time when our flight was repeatedly delayed. We found that taxis were most likely to quickly pick up our request if we walked slightly down the street to the Plaza de la Cruz de Piedra (2 minute walk). This house is a true gem- stop browsing and book it now.
Lovely clean home walkable to the zocalo along the walking street. We were met at the house upon arrival and everything was explained. Any requests we made during our stay were promptly dealt with. Exceptional views from the roof deck. Plenty of water for our needs. Very workable kitchen. Excellent experience!!!!
Excellent location, comfortable and clean, and the property manager was very responsive to our needs. Our only complaint is that the shower water states cold (we were able to get it lukewarm only once during our weeklong stay).
We loved the proximity to Centro and surrounding neighborhoods. There are plenty of Cafes, restaurants, and markets nearby. The apartment is away from busy streets and is reasonably quiet. The kitchen was well equipped, but we didn't cook while we were there. The beds were comfortable. The rest of the furniture was not comfortable for relaxing. Upgrading the sitting areas would go a long way. We had no issue with hot water. *tip - only turn on the hot water (on the left) and wait 4-5 minutes before getting in the shower. Overall, we were happy with our stay.
A bright modern house in a wonderful location. 5 minute walk to Santo Domingo Church and a 15 minute walk to the Zocalo. A safe area, close to shops and restaurants. We had an issue with the hot water but Michael, the property manager helped us with that. A faster response time would be appreciated from the owner.
Four friends and family explored Oaxaca for 2 weeks and enjoyed walking to restaurants, markets, museums and the zocalo from this very well located residence.
The cobbled street led to several restaurants that became favorites. Walking up and down the slight hill to the zocalo brought us in range of many many shops, restaurants and historical buildings,
The layout of bedrooms above living spaces gave us privacy when needed and the roof deck was a wonderful asset when the sun went behind the buildings. Sunset against the mountains were a daily delight, Our only regret was without shade in the daytime, the roof was too hot to enjoy.
Michael was prompt in greeting us, and responding to our very few needs during our stay. He was gracious and helpful in reserving a taxi for when we left.
I would recommend this place for anyone who enjoys views and walking in beautiful neighborhoods on cobblestone streets.
This is my second time staying here, and it is marvelous. Location is stellar, it's on an exceptionally quiet street in regards to traffic. We could hear some music from a wedding one night, but faintly. For Oaxaca, this is quiet. The kitchen is well equipped, though we didn't use it this time. Rooftop views are great- I know they're working on getting some shade to put up there. Do yourself a favor, and book this place for your trip to Oaxaca. Great managers, too,
This oasis is just outside of the main downtown which can be loud, especially on weekends. It was walkable everywhere and the street felt safe and charming. We had one hiccup with the water that property manager Michael dealt with right away and was resolved by the next day. We would stay here again without hesitation.
Having lived in Oaxaca, I was excited to experience a home inside the arches. This home was so comfortable for two of us, and was large and equipped enough for me to host a brunch with some friends. Patricia and her manager were so pleasant, available to answer questions. The rooftop was a lovely way to end our day, and having a washer was great mid-travel. I highly recommend this place!
This is a beautiful 2 bedroom property in Xochimilco area, close to the centro but far away from the crowds and noise. This area used to be aqueduct which become out of use in 1940s and the houses were built!! You can walk everywhere and it felt totally safe in the neighbourhood. The place was super clean, beds super comfortable and we loved the roof top where you get the view of mountains and city--we spent mornings and evening on the terrazia!! Kitchen has enough pots and pans and utensils. There is 1 and half bathroom which is very helpful. They also have a washing machine which really helped as we stayed for 2 weeks. Property manager is very responsive and was always around to help when needed. The owner Patricia is also very responsive and seems like a lovely lady. We enjoyed our stay!
Hello! Brazilian born, I work in the film industry in Los Angeles. Love mindfulness, yoga - anything that is related with personal and spiritual development. Going to Oaxaca is always a break that brings up my inspiration when I return to town.
I fell in love with Oaxaca in 2004, when I visited for the first time. The culture of the city is so unique and there is beauty everywhere you look. I wanted my house to make justice to the city, so it took more 10 years go going back and forth till the house was built. The house itself is pure art. Designed by Efrain Morales, a very known local architect and painter. I decorated the house little by little, always listening the gussets suggestions.
My favorite thing about the house is not only the location inside the city, but the location related to the moon and the sun. You can sleep watching the moon and wake up watching the sun if you choose the main room. I spent nights and many Sunrises on the Terrazzo. It is soooo magical and peaceful.
